SYorksDeano
I would assume that the magnetic "field" would be the same as football grounds on the exit gates. Soon as the alarm goes the magnetic field drops
sumayyah
the down escalator broke down a couple of weeks ago, people managed to get thier trolleys off, it just took alot of pushing and pulling to manage it
beansforyou
I'd rather squeeze past a few trolleys than be stuck in the lift.
ray-ray
you would have to leave the trolley and run!
Classic Rock
I was there a bit earlier and my trolley, going downhill, didn't 'stick'. Despite rearranging it a bit, it still wouldn't stay put so had to hold on to it.
denlin
OK so they are not magnetic , what would happen then if an emergency kicked off because they trollys simple will not move ? In case of any emergency you would just leave the trolley where it is and make your way to safety or do you put the value of your shopping above your safety? It would depend what I'd bought.

shaunfl
Sainsburys on Archer Road has these trolleys, and I've witnessed the occasional pile-up on the down escalator if someone's been slow to get their trolley off. Are they all too posh to push
gingerlou
There is another exit/entrance at the top of the escalators that lead to chaucer road, plus there are other emergency exits around the shop so you'd go out the nearest one rather than down the escalator. Common sense
