it's used for working ground n' pound & grappling drills.if you have a look at septembers fighters only mag ian'the machine'freeman is using one in the training tips bit.hope that's some help to you. oh what's a grappling iron by the way?

A grappling iron is one of those things you tie to teh end of a piece of rope and either throw up a wall to hook at teh top and pull yourself up, or throw in to the river and drag out lost bicycles and shopping carts.

thanx didn't know that's what thay were called. ye the grappling dummy is used in wrestling,mma &bjj[brazilian jiu jitsu] practice especially if your training on your own:thumbsup: it's a partner that you can beat the s*?t out of & he wont hit you back:heyhey:
