Here is the list of First SY service changes - taken from First SY website :

 

 

Sheffield Bus Service Changes commencing 25 July 2010

 

Commencing 25 July 2010, First are making changes to a number of services in the Sheffield area. In many cases these changes are as a direct result of customer feedback. Many areas will see no changes or improved services and new links available.

 

However, in some cases services have been reduced owing to poor use making them uneconomical to operate. Wherever possible, alterations have been made to ensure the impact of changes on customers is minimal, and in most cases customers will not be affected.

 

Changes in detail:

 

1 Jordanthorpe - Meadowhall - Hillsborough

 

Change to route and timetable. Will run hourly between Jordanthorpe and Meadowhall. Most buses during evenings and on Sundays will run between Gleadless Townend and Meadowhall. Between Meadowhall and Hillsborough replaced by service 45.

 

2 Crystal Peaks - Meadowhall - Hillsborough

Service withdrawn but replaced between Crystal Peaks and Birley and Base Green replaced by new service 44, between Gleadless Townend and Meadowhall by service 1, between Manor Top and Meadowhall by services 1 and 7 and between Meadowhall and Hillsborough by service 45.

 

3/4 Meadowhall - City Centre - Millhouses

Change to route and timetable. Will run hourly between Darnall and Millhouses via City centre. Between City centre and Meadowhall replaced by services 45 and 46. Customers in the Darnall area should note that as a result of these changes they will benefit from improved access to the City Centre and Moorfoot in particular.

 

6 City Centre - Darnall

 

Change to route and timetable. Will run hourly between Darnall, City Centre and Fulwood. (30 minute service between Darnall and City centre will be retained with service 4). Customers in the Darnall area should note that as a result of these changes they will benefit from improved access to the City Centre and Moorfoot in particular.

 

7 Shirecliffe - City Centre - Darnall

 

Change to route and timetable. Will run hourly between City centre and Meadowhall via Norfolk Park and Darnall. Between City centre and Shirecliffe replaced by new service 72 or through Firshill by 72 and new service 73.

 

11/12 City Centre - Stannington/ Hall Park Head

 

Change to timetable including the introduction of service 11A to run to Hall Park Head and Stannington during evenings and on Sundays.

 

14 City Centre - Wisewood - Loxley

 

Change to timetable. Buses will run up to every 15 minutes on Mondays to Fridays.

 

17/17A City Centre - Meadowhall

 

Change to route and timetable. Will run between Norton Lees and Meadowhall up to every 30 minutes.

 

20/20A Hemsworth - City Centre - Hillsborough

 

Change to timetable and the route of service 20A. Between Southey Green and Hillsborough the 20A will run via Galsworthy Road, Donovan Road and Herries Road replacing service 33 in this area.

 

21 Sheffield (City Centre) - Killamarsh - Spinkhill

Service withdrawn but replaced by new service 49.

 

30 Dore - City Centre - Crystal Peaks

 

Minor changes to the route between Sothall and Crystal Peaks. Also change to timetable including the introduction of a new peak time service X30.

 

33 Batemoor - Chancet Wood - Norton Lees - City Centre - Hillsborough

 

Service withdrawn but between Batemoor, Chancet Wood, Norton Lees and City centre replaced by either service 17 or new 39, between City centre and Shirecliffe Road by new services 72 and 73 and between Southey Green and Hillsborough by service 20A.

 

39 City Centre - Chancet Wood - Batemoor

New service will run hourly during the day on Mondays to Fridays.

 

40 City Centre - Hallamshire Hospital - Fulwood

 

Change to timetable including frequency improvement of up to every 7 minutes Mon-Fri.

 

41 City Centre - Crystal Peaks - Halfway

Change to timetable including frequency improvement of up to every 7 minutes Mon-Fri. Buses will run to Halfway (Streetfields) instead of Rotherham Road.

 

42 Royal Hallamshire Hospital - City Centre - Crystal Peaks

 

Change to route and timetable. Service will run between City Centre and Crystal Peaks only, operating via Silkstone Road and Dyke Vale Road. Between Royal Hallamshire Hospital and City centre and Intake replaced by service 40 and new service 44.

 

44 Royal Hallamshire Hospital - City Centre - Birley - Crystal Peaks

 

New service will run up to every 15 minutes between Royal Hallamshire Hospital and Birley via City centre, Manor Top, Intake and Base Green. During the day on Mondays to Saturdays, buses will extend to Crystal Peaks every 30 minutes replacing service 2.

 

45 City Centre - Firth Park

 

Change to route and timetable. Service will now run between City centre and Hillsborough via Grimesthorpe, Sandstone Road, Meadowhall, Wincobank, Sheffield Lane Top and Longley up to every 30 minutes. Note that customers at Sandstone Road will now benefit from faster journey times to both Meadowhall and Sheffield.

 

46 City Centre - Firth Park

 

Change to route and timetable. Service will run between City Centre and Northern General Hospital via Grimesthorpe (Margate Drive), Meadowhall, Wincobank (Standon Road) and Firth Park up to every 30 minutes. Late evening and Sunday buses will run as service 46A via Sandstone Road. Extension to Northern General Hospital at the request of customers in the Wincobank area.

 

49 Sheffield (City Centre) - Killamarsh - Spinkhill

 

New service will run between Sheffield and Killamarsh and Spinkhill directly replacing service 21.

 

52 Woodhouse - City Centre - Crookes

Change to route and timetable. Most buses will be extended beyond Crookes to Hillsborough.

 

66 Sheffield (City Centre) - Rotherham

Change to route and timetable. Route between Grenoside and Sheffield (City centre) will be direct via the A61. Between Grenoside (Main Street), Fox Hill, Hillsborough (centre) and Sheffield (City centre) replaced by service 77. This will create faster journeys from Thorpe Hesley and High Green into Sheffield.

 

72 City Centre - Shirecliffe

 

New service. Will run hourly between City centre and Shirecliffe.

 

73 City Centre - Ecclesfield

 

New service operating between City centre and Ecclesfield via Firshill, up to every 10 minutes daytimes.

 

75 Jordanthorpe - Batemoor - City Centre - Sheffield Lane Top

 

Change to route and timetable. Buses will be extended beyond Sheffield Lane Top to High Green up to every 10 minutes.

 

76 Low Edges - City Centre - High Green

 

Change to route and timetable. Service will run between Low Edges and Ecclesfield (Morrisons) via City centre and Shiregreen (Sicey Avenue) up to every 10 minutes. Between City centre and High Green replaced by service 75.

 

77 City Centre - High Green

 

Change to route and timetable. Route between Grenoside and City centre will be via Grenoside (Main Street), Fox Hill and Hillsborough (centre). Between Grenoside and City centre via A61 replaced by service 66.

 

78 City Centre - High Green

 

Service withdrawn partly replaced by service 77 between Chapeltown and City centre

 

80 University of Sheffield - Endcliffe Student Village - City Centre

 

Service withdrawn. Further review to be carried out but service to be partly replaced from September 2010.

 

81 City Centre - Bents Green

 

Change to route and timetable. Service will run via Greystones Road in both directions up to every 30 minutes.

 

82 City Centre - Bents Green

 

Change to route and timetable. Service will run between City centre and Ecclesall (Knowle Lane) direct via Ecclesall Road and Ecclesall Road South at frequent intervals. Between City centre and Bents Green replaced by 81 and 84.

 

84 City Centre - Ringinglow

 

Change to route and timetable. Some buses will start and finish at Fox House.

 

86 City Centre - Fulwood

 

Service withdrawn but replaced by service 6 between City centre and Fulwood via Rustlings Road. Customers will benefit from use of low floor, accessible buses.

 

94 Walkley - City Centre - Birley

 

Service withdrawn but replaced between Walkley and City centre by service 95 and between City centre and Birley replaced by new service 44.

 

95 Walkley - City Centre - Dyke Vale Road

Change to route and timetable. Service will run between Walkley and City centre only. Between City Centre and Dyke Vale Road replaced by revised service 42.

 

701 High Storrs School - Manor Top

 

Change to route and timetable.

 

707 Parkwood School - Manor Top

 

Service withdrawn.

 

752 Athelstan School - Darnall

 

Service withdrawn but replaced by journeys on service 52.

 

795 City Centre - Dyke Vale Road

 

Service withdrawn but replaced by journeys on service 42.

 

797 Abbeydale Grange School - Ecclesfield

Service withdrawn due to school closure.

X30 Broomhill - City Centre - Sothall

 

New service replacing X52.

 

X52 Woodhouse - City Centre - Ranmoor

 

Service withdrawn but replaced by service X30.

 

Also timetable changes on services 22, 25A, 28, 47/48, 51, 53, 56, 69, 85, 97/98, 272 and X78

 

Customers are also asked to note that during the school holiday period (25 July to 28 August) there will be a revised timetable operating owing to reduced traffic and customer demand. These temporary timetables will affect services 22, 40, 41, 47/48, 51, 53, 75/76 and 82.

 

Timetables for all changes will be available from SYPTE Information Centres and on-line at firstgroup.com from mid-July.

The exact alterations probably have not been published yet. Silverknight is pretty good at getting the best available data for us.

I think you are correct as I asked a driver I see in passing and he diudnt know the exact new route either.

Will that be including the route it now takes ...through Hillsborough , Lane Top ect .... or have we lost our service???? I can't see an alternative bus listed here:huh:

Does anyone know if any of these 76/75/78 buses will carry on to go through Ecclesfield Village or will we all have to walk down to Ecco Common??
