Haldamir
Saturday night is now pretty much the main rock/metal night and has been for a while it seems. There's also a new, relatively unknown night, usually held on the last Thursday in every month. It's called 'Metalsammlung' and its run in the small room only (so far). Entry is £3. The DJ's have been very amiable chaps so far and will play pretty much ANYTHING metal as long as they have it, though it is tailored to less mainstream metal. Below is the set-list for the last show they did (they upload all their set-lists on their site for people to see what they play): Opeth - 'Deliverance' Shadows Fall - 'Enlightened By The Cold' Coheed & Cambria - 'Ten Speed Of God's Blood...' Lamb Of God - 'The Subtle Arts Of Murder...' Black Sabbath - 'Heaven And Hell' Arch Enemy - 'Dead Eyes See No Future' Tyr - 'Wings Of Time' Mushroomhead - 'Solitaire Unravelling' Dream Theater - 'As I Am' Viking Skull - 'Beer, Drugs & Bitches' Firewind - 'Insanity' WWE - 'Triple H' Killswitch Engage - 'A Bid Farewell' Slipknot - 'People = ****' Skindred - 'Nobody' Hatebreed - 'Live For This' Lamb Of God - 'Laid To Rest' Sonata Arctica - 'Wolf & Raven' System Of A Down - 'Toxicity' Nightwish - 'Phantom Of The Opera' Fear Factory - 'Demanufacture' Sepultura - 'Roots Bloody Roots' Megadeth - 'Take No Prisoners' Dethklok - 'Into The Water' Carcass - 'Heartwork' At The Gates - 'Slaughter Of The Soul' Dio - 'Holy Diver' Metallica - 'All Nightmare Long' Stampin' Ground - 'Dead From The Neck...' 3 Inches Of Blood - 'Deadly Sinners' Rammstein - 'Sonne' Dragonforce - 'Through The Fire &...' Turisas - 'Battle Metal' Korpiklaani - 'Let's Drink' Tenacious D - 'Dio' Alice In Chains - 'Them Bones' Gojira - 'Ocean Planet' Pantera - 'The Art Of Shredding' Rage Against The Machine - 'Bombtrack' Drowning Pool - 'Bodies' Scar Symmetry - 'The Illusionist' Dream Evil - 'March Of The Metallions' Iron Maiden - 'Hallowed Be Thy Name' Machine Head - 'Halo' Apocalyptica - 'One' Next one is on Thursday 29th January. Haldamir
Good playlist:) Think I will have to check it out on the 29th.....has it been very busy? Not overly so. It's not been massively advertised - just with the odd facebook group post here and there. I've been to 3 out of the 4 so far (missing only November). Least amount of people I've seen in (once its hit full swing) is probably in the 20s. The busiest night probably pulled 40 or so people (which is a fair few considering the room is tiny). It's a nice friendly atmosphere. Even when it's dead peeps just randomly chat to one another and the DJs are really cool. The guy who 'runs' metalsammlung DJ's the first 15 songs or so then gets a guest DJ to do the rest of the night. I'd say expect 15 - 20 people early on with the number improving around 12ish. The upside the less people being there is you get more request choices I had about 10 or 12 songs from my requests played at the last one. I'm hoping to go to the next one - just depends what my mates are doing.
cs65dos
It's definately shoddy now, however, they had Isis in the other night which was amazing. Still cant believe they played!
NEKRO138
It's definately shoddy now, however, they had Isis in the other night which was amazing. Still cant believe they played! What makes it so unbelievable considering they've played twice (maybe more) before then?

Ah, this sounds a bit more like the Corp I knew. Will probably make an appearance end of this month if it's still on...
Haldamir
Yeah, they've got the room booked for last Thursday in Feb, Mar and April. After that I think it's taking a break and returning sometime around August/September. I'll be at the March one at the very least. Hopefully this month's too. Mostly Metal
Hi there Feel like I should join in this little chin wag as the night in question is, in fact, my club night Metalsammlung It is very encouraging to see my playlists being met with universal approval. Clearly you are an open minded bunch with good taste I have recently joined this forum as another means of promoting the night I would appreciate any comments or advice as I am still pretty new to this promotion lark Also check out my website Metalsammlung.com and let us know what you think Cheers Paul p.s. check out the Metalsammlung @ Corporation thread in the Evenings Out section \m/
gabby
I'm aware of being biased here, but I remember (only about 4-5 years ago) when mondays and saturdays were ****ing brilliant. There used to be a really good variety of metal, from classic and mainstream to more underground/extreme. Now it's all pop, indie, emo, rip-rap etc. Don't get me wrong, I like some indie and pop, but please, not at Corp! Where else is there to go for your thrash and grind? Disgruntled ex Corper Perhaps the punters have asked for it? I go to the Corp, and like all kinds of music, not just metal. I'm just as likely to get on the dance floor to Wu-Tang as much as Slayer

I'm just as likely to get on the dance floor to Wu-Tang as much as Slayer I like all kinds of music as well, from jazz to death metal but I was hoping Corp would remain a niche club... i.e. metal all the way. Oh well, you can't please all of the people all of the time.
