Ghostrider   11 #1 Posted November 18, 2008 After finishing work tonight, I thought I would stay for a beer... Sat in the beer garden talking to a few friends when this young couple walk in - they sit down and start to join in our conversation.  All this time, I am thinking that the girl looks soooo familiar - I ask her what her name is, she says "Kat"  Short for Katherine I ask - yes. Is your middle name *** - yes. Your mother is called ***** - yes. Your dad is called **** - yes, but he is my stepdad. You live in ******* - yes.  Do you know your real dads name - yes, and gives me a name....  Guess what - she is my daughter that I have not seen for 12 years   It turns out her mother has been trying to trace me, for Katherines sake, but never found me, then, by a random coincidence, she walks into the place where I work....  I nearly had a sodding coronary !  Mind you, she looked a bit surprised as well, lol.  Anyway, it was time for her to go home, so numbers were exchanged, and she is coming to see me tomorrow - assuming the shock has worn off !  I waited 12 years for tonight, but never expected it would happen. Just hope I dont turn out to be too much of a disapointment to her....  * Names blanked to protect the family...
 Share this content via...

I recently met my dad again and it didn;t, but it seems you have a very different attitude to your daughter than mine did to me.  I'll keep my fingers crossed for you both. x-GiGgLeS-x   10 #11 Posted November 18, 2008 I hope everything works out for you. My dad came to see me for the time in years a couple of months ago. He visited about 4 times and then never ended up coming again and not even sending a text or anything. I wasnt suprised after all if he wanted contact we would have stuck at it years ago and not just left most of his kids to be. he still sees a couple of his kids but not them all and Im 1 he doesnt want to see. Not my loss though its his, hes missed out on my life so much and he will miss out on his grandsons.
 Share this content via...
