ARB1
You can dispose of a mattress in the bin and a 3 piece sweet. I have done both.It may take a few weeks but all you need is a hacksaw and a pair of pliers. ---------- Post added 23-02-2013 at 17:02 ---------- Hi Samantha. Just had a look at their site and it says there is a charge if your not a tenant. Rip cover/stuffing etc off mattress and then leave spring frame/mesh out for metal collectors. Same with settee, but then burn wooden frame:cool:

gracie
We need to dispose of a settee and armchair and the council have quoted us £20. We are not council tenants.
*Ryan*
We need to dispose of a settee and armchair and the council have quoted us £20. We are not council tenants. Here is a solution, dump both in a field, someone will no doubt call council. Which then makes you charge zero.

Dozer
Can't find any threads about this newer than 10 years old, so thought I would start a new one. We have a small amount of trash that needs taking to the tip. We want someone to legally take it. We'd do it ourselves, but one item is too big for us so would like someone to take the lot. 1. Long roll of green carpet (good condition if anyone needs it and can pick it up!) 2. Old electric oil-filled radiator (works but some corrosion) 3. Box of disused electrical appliances 4. A few other bits and bobs, nothing messy. Can anyone recommend someone reliable and legal? Thanks
Fooman
Message debo1 as he came and collected things we were getting rid of. He does house clearances so will probably be able to help you.
El Cid
Can anyone recommend someone reliable and legal? Thanks Where I live people do it for £15/£20, although its not strictly legal to take things to the tip in your own car, for reward.
