BNP megathread (again)

While holocaust deniers are either total idiots, brainwashed, wicked or all three, I do find it both contradictory and disturbing that in a supposedly free democracy where we have [allegedly] freedom of choice and speech, somebody can be prosecuted for their beliefs.

We couldn’t even prosecute a paedophile for standing on a soap box and saying children of 4 or older should be able to have sex, but we prosecute somebody who denies a six-decade old piece of history. That they’re wrong/stupid/devious is irrelevant, it’s just a belief.

Inciting paedophilia is an offence under uk law. This chap was rightly convicted for it.

Freedom of speech has to be limited by a responsibility not to incite criminality. It is the old argument that freedom of speech does not extend to someone shouting fire in a packed cinema.

The Rune that Nick Griffin was prosecuted for rehashed long discreditted theories about the holocaust within the wider context of of a global Jewish conspiracy. The holocaust was a result of Jewish conspiracy theories and because of the consequences it is rightly considered to be not just distasteful but something the law should rightly involve itself with.

It's very simple really. Until you define what a person who is an 'ethnic minority' is, it's impossible to answer. I've given you an example of a person who may be a second, or even third generation UK citizen who may have a different coloured skin.

Yet you refuse to give a description of a person who may be an 'ethnic minority'! Until you define what you mean, I can't even begin to answer your question. Answer mine, and we might be able to stop going round in circles.

Seems to be a bit of pushing here to try to force Flange to say.."coloured".

How to define ethnic minority ?thats easy just ask the PC wallahs and the other do gooders they are the ones who get a kick out of labeling things and causing disruption

BNP meet goes ahead

Published Date: 17 July 2008

By Claire Lewis

THE British National Party went ahead with a meeting in Sheffield last night despite being forced to change venue at the eleventh hour.

Members were originally due to meet at Southey Social Club but, after consultation with councillors, MPs, police and concerned members of the public, the club cancelled the event.

Today the BNP's spokesman in Sheffield, Jim Brown, said the meeting

went ahead in a secret location which will be used again.

He claimed party leader Nick Griffin attended the meeting along with around 150 members of the public.

"We were outraged that we got 1,000 votes from the people of Southey Green in the last council election but they were denied the right to attend one of our meetings in their own community," he said.
