Oxford = Labour gained 4 seats.

(A small ray of light on a disappointing night for Labour nationally).

Can't believe the BBC's national poll showed people having more faith in the Tories looking after the NHS than Labour! :loopy:

At the risk of being rather flippant. I feel a bit sorry for my best mate. His missus said she couldn't meet him tonight because she was counting votes. Now it aooears that they dont start the count till 10am I wonder what/who she has been doing ?

Looking bad for Labour in Wales.

PC have gained seats in Ynys Mon (Anglesey) and Ceredigion.

{But I won't let the Anglesey results spoil my forthcoming holiday in North Wales!}

Bury = Conservative GAIN from No Overall Control

This is sad news for local democracy. Right on our border too. The BNP brigade in Sheffield will no doubt be attending the count at Ponds Forge hoping that they can emulate their successes in Rotherham.

No it's not sad news for local democracy. It is a very small minority of people voting for them but they do have a right to vote for who they want. Me - I voted Lib Dem purely because I feel they are better for my area. It would be a sad day for local democracy if you didn't have the choice............

Of course people have right to vote for however they want. But that doesn't stop it being sad that people have voted for a party lead by a holocaust denier, with a sidekick with an openly declared admiration for Hitler.

I voted green, btw.

The 10p tax fiasco would appear to have damaged Labour nationally.

It was certainly an issue with a number of voters that I came into contact with during the campaign in Sheffield. Will it affect how Sheffield has voted?

Very much so, also the smoking ban, and Ive no doubt people are still angry about charging for education along with the wars we are partaking in to the East.

Also, indecisiveness. Cannabis BC?ABCD?BCBCBC, 10p or not 10p (lets see what the public think first - more of a waste of time, money, face etc.)

++++++Laws

--------Sentences

***+ jails

* 'if applicable' accomodation for law abiding citizens down on their luck/taxed to hilt

The only way labour could redeem themselves is to sort out proper council housing, for British born people, and at the same time they could build an excess for immigrants too.

nah mate, its the right wing, fascist socialists that lied their way into power 11 years ago.

i'd sooner vote for a liberal tory party than lying socialists again.
