  1. Having read the first post this is roughly what happened to me in September last year. They took £72.00 out of my account when it should have been £60.00. In a fit of temper i cancelled the direct debit till it was sorted out. Both NPower and myself agreed that i would pay £65.00 p/m and the operator reaffirmed later that they still had the bank details and would set up the DD. A month later checked with the bank to see if the DD was set up and it wasnt. Several phonecalls and "notices of dissatisfaction" later they still had not even set up the DD. I was still paying the £65.00 by debit card online. I am glad to say i am no longer with NPower and i am now with "LoC02" and pay just £50.00 p/m for the same electricity.
  2. I had a similar problem. The water meter reader came out and supposedly read the meter. The meter is at knee height and he didnt bend down to have a look at the numbers. He misread the number eight when it should have been a six. YW came out again to confirm that my reading was the correct one. It was.
  3. I dont know f its of any use but i once read about some one having the same problem with what your having and after doing all the checks it turned out to be a battery in the desk top. Apparently its there to keep time when the computer is off. It was found to be this that was causing the problem.
  4. I am still getting over flu which came on sunday night but it is slowly going, i dont want any more viruses thankyou.
  5. I agree with you with regards to Npower they changed my tariff and i set up a new direct debit and 2 months later they still have not sorted it out. All they say "We can put a notice of dissatisfaction on your account"
  6. Wish i was the same as you, i am in a one bed flat with economy heating and pay £60 a month.
  7. Has your property got Economy 7 heating ? The reason why is there are 2 readings, a night tariff and a day tariff and its been known for the meter readers, home owners or the electricity company,s to get the numbers the wrong way round incurring high bills.
  8. Sorry to hear your plight. If the father is on job seekers you would receive very little in the way of maintenance ( i think it was £5 p/w) i was in the same predicament myself.
  9. Ive used Jeyes fluid. Mix 250ml to 10 litres of water and apply using a watering can with a rose on the end.
  10. Try Heian Ryu with classes at Ponds forge or Hillsborough Leisure centre Website here > http://www.hrkg.org.uk/. They practice a style called Shukokai.
  11. I would be interested to know if any one still uses a pager apart from doctors in hospitals.
  12. According to this > http://www.earthquakes.bgs.ac.uk/ no.
  13. Like accepted. It is all to easy for us to comment on any individuals misfortune but usually there is more to the story as i found out yesterday. I for one used to walk past the very same people out on the street and think to my self what a scruffy person etc etc. At the end of the day they are people just like you and me and events in their life take a turn for the worse i.e relationship breakdown,drink/drugs and debt. I really feel for the person(s) living rough out on the streets it cant be easy. "Gary" is aware of this > http://www.sheffieldcathedral.org/how-you-can-help/archer-project-help-for-the-homeless-and-vulnerable.php.
  14. I asked him the same question about signing on,benefits etc. You need an address to claim benefits for obvious reasons. He is still waiting for a place in a hostel that can be used as an address.
  15. Spoke to "Gary" to day. I asked him if he was ok and if he needed any thing. He didnt. He had something to eat and drink. He is waiting for a place in a hostel the sooner the better i think.
  16. There you go >http://www.hse.gov.uk/riddor/. You learn summat new every day.
  17. Usually if sending any documentation to a government department whether its J.S.A, E.S.A or W.T.C it is advisable to phone to make sure they have received it. Not only it gives you piece of mind knowing they have it and is being dealt with it can save you a lot of hassle.
  18. Surely if the O.P is working and the government says you can claim tax credit then why not claim. If employers paid well above the N.M.W there would be no need for tax credits.
  19. The train passes nearly everyday around 18:30. I live next to the track.
  20. As far as i know the line is still owned by Railtrack or Network rail and Stocksbridge Engineering Steels operate the freight train on the track. There was some talk about opening the line after SES and the Woodhead line.
