  1. And this is exactly how it will go down in history. Some believing he is a drugs cheat and some believing he is the greatest cyclist to have ever mounted a road bike. It will never end and it will never change. And yes, dvp82's post was very good indeed.
  2. You hit the nail on the head there Evei. I have hardly talked about Kerry passing away for 6 months now. No one feels comfortable talking about it apart from me. I understand that no one wants to talk about it. If the boot was on the other foot i would do all i could to try and focus on other things. The thing is, people just don't know how to react. I could stand and talk about Kerry and her passing without any problem at all. Of course, there might be tears involved but that doesn't mean i don't want to talk about it. Hiding it away is never going solve anything.
  3. Yes, because he has done it already. He has fought them for the last 6 years and they still keep coming at him. He has paid millions of his own money to fight them but he would never win against a government. You sir, know nothing. If you think every peloton is doped up then you are a fool. Cycling is the most tested sport on the planet. Every cyclist is bullied during a race. The difference is these days, they have more of a team structure to look out for each other.
  4. If he had failed a drugs test he would have been instantly banned. Cycling isn't boxing, where the big names are allowed to carry on regardless.
  5. Sorry guys. I didn't word my OP very well. I'm not actively looking for counselling at the moment. I did the search last night out of curiosity. I was wondering if i had been a one off when i wasn't offered any counselling from either the hospital or my doctor. It seems i was not. I find it strange that there is no official counselling out there. There is counselling for drugs/drink/depression/anxiety etc etc but when the very worst possible act happens to you, you seem to be left alone to deal with it. I did find this web page which has pretty much put my thoughts down. I can relate to every single word on it. Especially that part about what other people say to you. That made me smile as i was at a wedding last Sat and had lots of people saying the same things throughout the day.
  6. And he fought/won everyone of them. I do not see your point. So they had the physical proof in 2009 yet never presented it
  7. Had a bit of a wobble earlier. Although i am in a better place these days, i still miss my Kblade. There is still that gaping hole. Anyway... I decided to look for a bereavement support group in Sheffield and guess what i found.....Nothing. I did find several 'support groups' full of idiots talking about getting off with each other. When Kerry died i had an appointment made to collect her belongings and speak to the bereavement officer. When i turned up she gave me a leaflet, gave me Kerry's cloths and asked me to sign forms for the funeral director. That was it. No counselling at all. I was in there for 5 mins at the most. Thinking back, she was also quite abrupt. I am guessing that if i had any sort of counselling at all, i would have been where i am now, a lot sooner. I know i am not in the right frame of mind to do it but surely a city the size Sheffield needs such a support group to help each other out when losing family members?
  8. Add to that the way the USADA have bent over backwards to discredit anyone who testified in Armstrong's defence. He has spent millions of dollars defending himself for 16 years in more cases and countries than he is given credit for. He could have packed it in 10 years ago and saved himself millions. Now the USADA have lined up a bunch of people who have an axe to grind with Lance and not much else. Maybe he just realized that he was never going to win and got sick of it taking it's toll on his family.
  9. See my post above. I think i covered it there. BTW... Bradley Wiggins had to wait to apply cream for saddle sore last week until a team of doctors and the governing body had approved. That is 1 treatment. Something most people would never even dream of thinking about, yet if he didn't have it signed off he would have found himself stripped of his TDF win this year and stripped of his title. I wonder if so much attention was paid to such details 16 years ago?
  10. That's just it. There isn't a wealth of evidence against him at all. They have people willing to testify that they witnessed him injecting himself. That isn't physical evidence. Those people have also failed drugs tests. Lance Armstrong hasn't. They also claim that they have a urine sample dug up from back in the 90's that has tested positive to EPO using modern techniques. I highly doubt it. He also didn't just take the USADA to court to stop them giving evidence. He has spent millions over the years defending and counter suing everyone that 'claimed' to have evidence against him and he won every one of them. When they couldn't get Lance they went after the doctors that were testifying on behalf of Lance and tried to discredit them. Lets face it. Each and every top sports person on the planet are walking a tight line of what is allowed and what isn't allowed (Paddy Kenny taking a huge suspension for taking cough medicine is one example). Are the USADA going to go after every other winner of the tour like they did Armstrong? Of course not. If they did, they would find a reason to ban each and every one of them. If i remember rightly someone was banned a few years ago for using the wrong toothpaste (or was that one of the jumped up accusations aimed at lance a while back?), . There would have never been a winner of the TDF after the taking of urine samples had began. If this ruling stands and Armstrong is stripped of his titles i would hope that the USADA look in to every winner of the TDF with the same gumption as they have done Lance over the last 16+ years.
  11. I totally agree. It would be interesting to see how many other cyclists failed the same tests a decade later. Ohh wait, we can't know that can we because the USADA have only been hunting 1 person out of the thousands of cyclists in the 90's. I'm not even sure how a USADA can have any power outside of the USA? Always liked you at school mate and i totally agree with everything you have said. But he had over 100 drugs tests and passed them all. The only evidence is that of former colleagues saying they witnessed his fridge full of EPO (?) and him injecting himself like an addict. As i understand it Lance Armstrong was first accused of taking banned substances back in 1996. He provided all the documentation to prove that his medication was needed as part of his recovery from cancer and everything was deemed above board. Since then various organisations have thrown huge amounts of accusations at him, even though he has been by far the most tested athlete on the planet. If you are the most tested athlete on the planet why would you even attempt to pull off doping for 7 years? My mind was made up years ago. Armstrong didn't use drugs to become the best cyclist ever. He simply trained harder than anyone else and developed a high cadence technique that no one could match. That same technique is being used by most climbers these days. Gone are the days of watching Marco Pantani (who was my hero but also found to be a drugs cheat at the end), stomp on the pedals and walk off into the distance. I don't care what 'evidence' or 'testimonies' the USADA come up with. I'll never believe them until the day Lance stands in front of a camera and admits cheating.
  12. To be fair, that sticky has one of my guides from a deleted account (long story. Admin knows about it), and the information in it might not be that good these days. It could do with updating in all honesty.
  13. Whoa...Don't do a Google image search for it Never heard of it before. What sort of game is it? Not another Rift is it?
  14. Every day washing up liquid works. I've used it do fix games scratched right down to the silver strip. You need to use a soft cloth or finger and use a circular motion. Also, put it in the freezer (no joke), for about 10 minutes after. Let it thaw out and it'll be as good as new.
  15. When i was a child i would worry about dying all the time. I would lay there in bed in tears, petrified knowing that one day i am going to die and there is nothing anyone is going to do about it. Since my partner died at the age of 34 earlier this year i have been thinking about mortality more and more. I often wonder if i am a hypochondriac. I've only visited the doctor 3 times in the last 10 years so i guess i'm not. This doesn't stop me constantly thinking about dying though. It might sound freaky or messed up to most people but i have often thought that it would be far easier to just end it now, rather than wait for the inevitable. This thought is nothing to do with Kerry dying. It is a thought i have had since i can first remember. @girlyblond... I don't think there is anything wrong with you at all. Maybe it is just the way some of us think. I've thought much the same as you over the years and i'm still here. If you ever want to sound off at someone just let me know
  16. I'm not going to read every post in this thread because i KNOW it will just wind me up. For reasons some of you know i haven't posted much at all this year. In all honesty it has been the worst 4 months of my life. One thing that i have enjoyed though, is this brilliant cat and mouse chase between our two clubs. You can take the Manchester derby and shove it as far as i am concerned. We might have been 2 divisions below them but i believe league one and Sheffield has been far more entertaining. I want to congratulate the Owls on their promotion. You finished far stronger than we did and you deserve your second place. It has been a fantastic battle. For me, it is just a pity Charlton got in the way of a 1-2. Thank you for one of the most memorable seasons i can remember. A major disappointment for me is the disingenuous comments coming from some Owls fans this last week. Listening to football phone in has been hard at times. After the season we have just had I can't believe some fans are so narrow minded as to wish for any other team than the Blades to be promoted via the playoffs. If it were the other way around i would be screaming for the Owls to win promotion (as i have been saying to friends and family all season). I have supported the Blades for 25 years or so and this has been by far the best battle of them all. I want more seasons like this one. Come on Owls. You know you love it. I'm not asking you to get behind the Blades but please don't lower yourselves to actually support any other team for promotion via the playoffs. Once again. A big congrats to the Owls on your promotion
  17. I've only got a HTC Desire S and there is no delay at all on anything. It works just as fast, if not quicker than my brothers iPhone 4. Mine is set to 2 minutes. If i want it to dim any sooner i just press a button and it's done.
  18. I play one of the biggest free to play games on the planet and it uses torrents to update. The link below is to the latest patch which is 100% free and 100% legal. http://thepiratebay.se/search/world%20of%20tanks/0/99/400
  19. Says it pretty well actually. After reading the full review the SIII looks like a real beast of a phone that is going to leave all others in the shade for a while to come. 14 months left on my contract. No doubt the S IV will be out before then
  20. Packets: Sent = 195, Received = 195, Lost = 0 (0% loss), Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds: Minimum = 41ms, Maximum = 42ms, Average = 41ms That was only a short test because i agree with the post above. I was told by an IT techie that it can take a few days for a line to settle down.
  21. TBP will probably never be taken down for good. It has back up servers all over the world that can be activated within minutes if needed. I'd be surprised if it ever went down for over a day and as you said, if it was somehow ever taken down, a new site would be up and running very soon. It's an impossible fight anyway. Just Google. 'torrent site' and the amount of them is phenomenal
  22. I'm having the same problem. If i leave it for an hour it will still only buffer about a minutes worth of video. It worked fine until a few weeks ago. I completely emptied my cache and that seemed to help a tiny bit but i am now starting to wonder if it is a flash problem.
  23. I have a HTC Desire S and i love it. No idea what some numpties are on about when they say you can't install music. This thing does everything i want and more
  24. I have to admit that that the only reason i haven't swapped over is the initial cost (i'm out of work atm), and the horrendous waiting time
  25. I agree with Schumacher. The tyres are starting to turn certain races into a procession.
