  1. Not sure how you can direct that comment at Bramall Lane!!
  2. Its getting exciting isn't it. What with Christmas, Blades £25m or £30m compensation, Owls takeovers, and West Hams 57th appeal attemp all just around the corner. But what will happen first? The Blades getting their big bag of money, or Wednesday getting a shiny new owner?
  3. The key word in here, though is "temporary".
  4. You really are credit to all Owls fans. A shining example of S6 sapience.
  5. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/2008/10/30/sheffield-wednesday-stars-must-pay-own-train-fare-to-crystal-palace-115875-20853573/
  6. Heres something from the very piece you quote: "following the verdict, Stothard added: .... Sheffield United are not precluded from taking further action whether against the Premier League or West Ham" So I'm not sure what your point is. You see, Sheff Utd were fully able to seek further action as they saw fit, whereas in the final arbitration, West Ham (and Sheff Utd) formally agreed to be bound by the final outcome at the start of proceedings. The Blades did not agree to any such clause in earlier proceedings.
  7. I posted this on a different thread on the 3rd October, and I still believe it. Keep reminding yourself of how bent the whole thing is, and ask yourself if it could be possible that the final outcome has already been re-decided. All these new claims won't help United. You see, the worrying thing in this development is the possibility of the Blades compensation now being reduced by those who are to set it - simply to set a precedent to all other potential claimers, so as not to open it up as a free-for-all that might finish West Ham. ie, if they set the Blades payment low, then others might not pursue - or even if they do, the payout will be at a level that would be more acceptable for West Ham. This would never be admitted in an open-forum, but it could be decided & agreed upon behind closed doors. The authorities will surely do their best to stop an avalance of claims. Don't forget that the outcome of this will set a precedent not just for other parties claiming in THIS case, but also for any number of similar claims in the future. Its a bench-mark case. The compensation awarded to the Blades will set the marker for the future. Don't count on the £30m just yet....
  8. Interesting. The Times states: "Sirrel announced that he was joining Sheffield United, who were then rooted to the bottom of the First Division.During his time at the club he designed the badge that Sheffield United still use today." See http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/comment/obituaries/article4848517.ece Wikipedias Sirrel page states: "Up until Sirrel's tenure in charge at Bramall Lane, the Blades used Sheffield's coat of arms. This was until Sheffield City Council copyrighted it forcing the Blades to look elsewhere for a badge. Sirrel sat down and designed the badge that is still used today." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jimmy_Sirrel So who's right?
  9. I can recommend these people too. All qualified, etc. http://www.hypnotherapysheffield.com/
  10. Wikipedia in this instance is wrong. The current club emblem was designed by Jimmy Sirrel not Jimmy Hagan.
  11. Nothing to do with the credit crunch. Everything to do with Sheard.

  13. Radio Sheffield read out a statement last night from SWFC stating categorically that the 3 gentlemen were "300%" not involved with any takeover bid @ SWFC. Back to Billy Liar then.
  14. Has there ever been a steeper decline in a career than Horsfields? Now without a club with only a trial at Kettering Town this season so far supposedly. Remind me - why DID Warnock buy him in the first place?
  15. Its closed all next week regardless of weather
  16. If I were you I'd spend my time on getting a web link for my business that works rather than one that just transfers to a holding portal.
  17. Then why bother to make the effort to post on what you think the blades might "do or don't do"? Some people might find that somewhat contraditory.
  18. Of course I know what it is!! I saw it once. Remember those people rattling "Save Our Owls" collection tins, c1974??
  19. Are you begging now? It certainly looks like it.
  20. If only the Blades managers could have spent years justifying everything to a dog track owner. Then they would have REALLY gone places.
  21. Todays the day? Don't think so. This article was posted today I believe. http://www.thestar.co.uk/owls/Sheard-waits-on-Owls-fans39.4238172.jp "SHEFFIELD Wednesday takeover frontman Geoff Sheard is looking for reassurance that he has the backing of fans as he eyes the next step in his bid for power. It is understood the Lancashire businessman will await the result of a ballot of Wednesdayite members on whether or not the organisation will part with their 10 per cent stake."
  22. So how come the Blades sell 18,000 season tickets having just dropped from the Premiership, not succeeded in getting straight back up, and finishing only mid-table following a dreadful start to the season under their worst management for years. Yet Wednesday can only sell 8,000 whilst being the citys Massive Club , heading for a much needed and longed for takeover, and awaiting (allegedly) untold riches following (allegedly) considerable investement. It doesn't seem to add up right....does it?
  23. 3500 seems too low - even for Wednesday.
