I`d agree that Eccy Road and Divsion Street are best bets. Although they are quite studenty, there is also a fair mix of older, discering clientele too. And you can usually find a decent pint. The Hop (later on when busy) and The Old House would be my pick for what you want
A shame it couldn`t remain a pub but it did need investment. Ought to have been an ideal pitch near the park. I bet Thornbridge had a look before opting for The Beauchief.
Good mix. Mallinsons and Raw Citra (yum) on at Cross Scythes this weekend. Also had Marble and got Buxton on the way, I think.
Twin Peaks is a nice drop.
Good call to be fair. It is nice in there and food sounds decent plus it`s cosy yet feels `exclusive`. Any decent guest ales recently. Not been for a fair while.
Nice article that and it`s good to have such a place to drink in here.
Whilst Sheffield is awash with decent breweries and with good pubs, there aren`t many really classic drinking spots. I think only the Bath is recognised as `authentic`/ `heritage` in its layout but Tap is in similar vein.
Thanks for that idea. We've been to some PJ Drama sessions and they were great so might look in to that. Also wondering if there are any halls for hire where we'd have access to toys as a playgroup is based there? Finding the price of parties a bit of a shock I might have to do the entertaining myself :-)
We're looking for a children's party entertainer for a 4 year old's birthday party but just wondering what sort of ball park figure we're looking at? Are they all around £100 for two hours? This is what previous posts on this topic seem to suggest.
Thanks for any help or recommendations.
Sounds good but you`d do well to beat the Cwtch (Tiny Rebel) and Cuban Conformity (Steel City) I had at the Shakespeares festival yesterday. Cracking red ales IMHO!
Dev Cat is in Good Beer Guide. Personally, I like to talk (and type) about the amazing ale and pubs in our city and I wondered what was happening with this one.
I think your wine bar idea is a great one. There is a gap there although maybe folk think it`s a bit 80`s. Personally, I love a beefy, spicy Shiraz or some of the stuff coming out of Ribera del Duero at the moment.
`Full of people that like nice things . . `. lol
Yeah, Shakies is in my top 3.
Chris the manager is spot on and works hard to keep the beers well. Furthermore, he`ll nip to the cellar if you ask nicely and let you try other beers that are about to come on the bar straight from the cask! So there`s often 10+ to choose from.
FYI there`ll be about 30-odd beers on there this weekend .
