  1. I'm looking to buy a pool cue for someone but don't know where to start. There seem to be so many. Am I right in thinking that 57" is the longest cue? Do any come in that length or are they split in two and fit together? Are there any preferable brands? Any other tips? Many thanks
  2. They are still in business......and me .....and my mother.....have both had issues. Only come half the time and now won't come at all because we refuse to pay for another year, even though we only had about 8 cleans in the previous year and they owe us some bin cleans. One bin cleaner was very rude to my mother, too, which doesn't help matters. Avoid this company like the plague. Shame, I could do with a bin cleaner. I like having a sweet-smelling bin!

  4. Do you know if there is an age limit for children?
  5. Does anyone know of any free English courses/evening classes for beginners.....as in learners of English as a second language? Also, does anyone happen to know if there are any Spanish societies in the city where native and non-native speakers meet socially to practice spoken English and Spanish? Thanks.
  6. Just wondering what are the realities of each school. In the unfortunate position of having to choose between them, having them both as catchment schools. Have visited both and King Edwards appealed infinitely more; much more dynamic and vibrant with lovely staff ...not to mention the dedicated subject buildings with excellent resources. So pleased to see it turning itself around at last (not least because I am a former pupil). Seems much more child-centred and geared up around individual needs. Tapton...bit of a dump, soulless and too many children on one site, but has outstanding reputation for academic excellence of traditional subjects. Just wondering how the children and parents of these schools feel in the current 2016 climate.
  7. Was really looking forward to this event. I sent an enthusiastic email to the organisers only to get back the crappy message 'all tickets have gone'. No addressee or signature on the reply. The lack of advertising is in typical Sheffield fashion. There only seems to be a Facebook page. Organisation seems a bit shoddy. I can see the lights now. Didn't head in to town following that response. Can't hear any sirens though.
  8. Sheffield is definitely going down hill again. Fright Night was great. Nothing is encouraged and what IS on isn't advertised properly. Sheffield really is the Forgotten City compared to its' counterparts.

  13. Can anyone recommend a mobile beautician who works in the S10 area? Thanks.
  14. Hi I run a small dance company, and we are putting on a charity fundraising dance show at the end of June next year. My clients are mostly women 'of a certain age', but I am looking for a group of male dancers (younger if poss), to add a bit of fun and excitement to a routine I am going to choreograph for the show. The ladies don't know about my plan, and I would like to surprise them in some way. I have not yet worked out the finer details of this scheme, but, if there are any male dancers out there who want to be part of the show (sorry lads - I can't pay you as it is for charity, but it might get you some exposure) that would be great! Anyone? ---------- Post added 27-11-2013 at 17:42 ---------- Failing this, is there a solo male dancer out there who would be interested in doing a dance with me at the show?
  15. Just wondering if anyone knows whether or not The Cherry Tree Cafe is still open? I can't seem to find any on-line info about it...and, more importantly its' opening times, on a Wednesday in particular. Advice appreciated.
  16. Due to success of this class, a second class will be will be soon to start on Thursday mornings at the U-Mix Centre Dance Studio, Asline Road, Sheffield S2. Please email [email protected] to register interest. Thanks! ---------- Post added 28-07-2013 at 06:47 ---------- Due to a few regulars being on holiday on Wed 7th August, I am offering a one-off dance class to three people to attend the disco class. The class will be held at 11am til noon, at the changed venue of the U-Mix Centre Dance Studio, Asline Road, S2. The cost of this class for those three people will be just £1 each. As the venue is smaller in size than our usual space, I will need to take names in advance, as, if anyone just turns up on the day, there may not be space to accommodate. Please pm to register interest. ---------- Post added 02-08-2013 at 07:35 ---------- Only a few more spaces available for this offer. Get your names down quickly. Thanks!

  18. Parent/Carer & Toddler 'Developmental 'DancePlay' Sessions beginning soon in Nether Edge, S11. 'Developmental DancePlay' is based upon both Diane L. Fraser's 'DancePlay - Creative Movement For Very Young Children', and Veronica Sherborne's 'Developmental Movement for Children'. It is designed for both children (birth to 4 years inclusive), and their parents/guardians/carers. 'Developmental DancePlay' movement exercises promote and enhance bonding between adult and child. They capture the energy of the young exploratory mind, allowing the adult to share in their child's inner creative world. It encourages the adult's empathy and attunement, and, the child's trust. Please visit http://www.oddsockdance.moonfruit.com for details of what the sessions comprise, cost, location, and to register for forthcoming classes. Advance reservation of place required.
