  1. Beer and Bangers Comedy Night.. you’d be BAA-rmy to miss it! The very popular, face aching, belly shaking comedy night is back in the unique venue that is the lambing shed at Whirlow Hall Farm on Saturday 3rd October 2015. Swapping baa-ing for sounds of laughter, this event is a corker; and with some of the hottest comedians on the UK circuit right now; it is definitely one not to be missed! With real local ales from Abbeydale Brewery and the most delicious high welfare sausages sizzling on the BBQ what more could you want from your Saturday night right? Comedians lined up for this special gig have been hand-picked from across the country; and include Geordie lad Gavin Webster, cheeky scouse Sam Avery and Yorkshire’s very own Scott Bennett as headliner. You’ll never believe this, but the compere for the evening is even a poultry farmer himself! Mike Wilkinson has supported Peter Kay, Johnny Vegas, Ross Noble and others, and headlines comedy clubs across the country. There will be lots of FREE creative workshops as well as drumming in the ‘Get Creative’ tent and various demonstrations throughout the day including LIVE cooking and butchery in the Giant Marquee. Come and see the Whirlow animals in our animal zone as well as Mill Houses Dog Club who will be doing lots of agility performances as well as hosting competitions that you and your best friend can take part in. Shop ‘til you drop in the giant craft and farmer market marquee with up to 100 stalls. Elsewhere FREE activities include farm-related craft activities, sports and an inflatable football pitch to name but a few. PLUS Punch and Judy shows; falconry displays; the ever popular Drakes of Hazard and local bands. You can go pony riding; have your face painted and enjoy various fairground rides and slides. The Musical Beer tent will be serving real ale from Abbeydale brewery whilst playing host to some of Sheffield’s best acoustic musicians. The Fayre runs from 10.00am to 4.00pm on Sunday, 13th September 2015 so be sure to come along and enjoy the fun. Children are FREE and adult entry is £6.00.   3. Halloween Spooktacular 2015 Friday 30th October 2015, Morning session (10am-1pm), Afternoon session (2pm-5pm). Ticket £3.00 Adult, Children £3.50. We would like to invite you to Whirlow Hall Farm Trust's Halloween Spooktacular 2015. This popular children's event is a fantastic opportunity for spooky fun on the farm and for your little ones to dress up in their best Halloween costumes. With a morning or afternoon session packed full of activities including the return of the popular Barney Baloney as our entertainment, and free pumpkin soup on arrival! There will be activities including; fun tractor trailer rides, face painting and pick your own pumpkin patch for an extra charge. There will also be prizes up for grabs in our raffle and for the best fancy dress costumes on the day of the event. Kids will be able to get creative with lots of crafts including creepy colouring and paper lanterns.   5. Imagine standing at the edge of an open doorway in an aircraft flying at 15,000 feet - the noise of the engines and the wind ringing in your ears with only the outline of distant fields below. Now imagine leaning forward out of that doorway and letting go - falling forward into the clouds, diving down through the air as you start freefalling at over 120mph! Then imagine the peace and quiet as the canopy opens, the steering toggles come down either side of you and you begin a tranquil parachute descent from a mile up in the air, steering yourself back down to the centre of the drop zone below.   6. Knock-knock. Who’s there? It’s the return of Whirlow Hall Farm’s comedy night! All jokes aside the very successful, and funny, Beer & Banger comedy night is back for another year on 27th of June. So kick back, relax and prepare to laugh your socks off at one of the funniest nights of the year. Enjoy some of Sheffield’s best real ales and tuck into a famous Whirlow sausage whilst listening to some great comedy acts who have performed at the likes of V Festival and The Comedy Store.   13. Join us for a festive winter evening of carols by candlelight, held in the beautiful setting of Ecclesall Parish Church, Ringinglow Road on Wednesday 10th December 2014. Starting at 7.30pm the magical concert includes a variety carol singing from local school and group choirs, Christmas music and readings with delicious complimentary mince pies and mulled wine to conclude the service. Local company Henry Boot have kindly agreed to sponsor the event once again which will allow us to maximise funds for the Trust.   14. Boo! The Halloween Extravaganza at Whirlow Hall Farm is back! Come along and join in with spooky fun on the farm! If you're unsure what to do with the little ones over half term, this is the perfect Halloween afternoon out, on Friday 31st October. There will be all sorts of fun activities to get involved in including creepy crafts, pumpkin scoop and sculpt, face painting and entertainment provided by Barney Baloney. What's more, the delicious pumpkin soup is free! Due to its popular demand this year we will have two sessions, 10am -1pm and 2pm-5pm. Each season will provide exactly the same attractions. Prizes for best costume amongst others so be sure to dress up! Our Whirlow BBQ will also be here serving our delicious burgers and sausages as well as hot drinks and snacks.   15. Saturday 22nd & Sunday 23rd November 2014 10.00am - 3.00pm Get your Christmas celebrations off to a magical start this year at our annual Christmas Fayre! With the support of Mercury Taxis our barns will be packed full of arts, crafts and Farmers’ Market delights so you can choose some unique gifts and get your Christmas stockings full to overflowing with lots of gorgeous treats! You will also be able to choose between beautiful Christmas trees. Santa and the elves will be waiting by an open fire in our cosy farmhouse to give the little ones their presents and if you’ve been really good, you will even be able to sneak a peek at his helpful Reindeer! Once you’ve been to the farm house you can also visit the ponies and rabbits in the petting barn. The scent of hot roasted chestnuts will fill the air while you feast to your heart’s content on mouth-watering high welfare pork at the Whirlow Hog Roast stand or fill up on many other tasty meals provided by caterers at the Fayre. Try fresh soup or a fruity mulled wine and mince pie to warm those mittens or select between lots of tasty home-made cakes in the Whirlow Café. With music provided by talented local choirs this really is a fun and festive weekend that will delight all the family’s senses! Tickets can be booked in advance or bought on the gate.
