  1. The Saturday edition is the best of the week because of the RETRO.
  2. There should be one for the people of Sheffield that put "Sheffield Made" on the map, most of the recipients are top earners but what about the Steel worker, the Cutlery worker, the Miner who did far more than the people who already have there names outside the Town Hall.
  3. I also wonder how the Asylum Seekers can afford cars, I cant afford one.
  4. Spot on, it is the Heavygate (1694). The Nailmakers (1626) was in Derbyshire for most of its life so dosnt really qualify, the Old Queens Head (1841) has been a pub for around a hundred and seventy years
  5. Yes I knew Lillian, never thought she would take Cutlery, but I suppose everyone did it.
  6. Who were your Gran & Grandad I worked there for 23 years Posted from Sheffieldforum.co.uk App for Android
  7. It was DEELEYS at Orgeave Way who owned the Butler name and that in turn was owned by Arthur Price. so look under either of those names but dont expect Sheffield made goods as lots of their lines are now from abroad. I cant remember making Satin Finish Rat-Tail, in E.P.N.S. yes but not Stainless Steel, I can remember making Queen Anne which were Stainless Steel pistol handles
  8. [No, not heaven. Just a nice estate with nice people and none of your usual trash who bring the area down to the level of a cesspit You seem jealous. Im sorry for that but you could always work harder and then like me you can escape the slums. Why should I be jealous? you made a choice that seems to suit you and I made mine, I love this Estate and as for working harder Ive done my fifty years thanks.
  9. Mr Hitler must be laughing his head off with the fact that our own countrymen are doing more damage than he ever did, the Moor has been a building site for over thirty years.
  10. Please dont tar all of us on Gleadless Valley with the same brush, there are more decent people here that there are scum, one of these scum is in court this week for burglary but he will get let off as hes only fourteen years old. The police know who all these scumbags are but its getting the evidence, Just remember we are not all scum .
  11. I dont really believe this as they delivered to one of my neighbours just yesterday afternoon.
  12. Friday, Saturday,Sunday, Monday, Tuesday 1 2 3 4 5 ---------- Post added 18-12-2012 at 14:00 ---------- Sorry but after Saturday its history.
  13. Fridays Icy road conditions in Sheffield has finally been reported in to-days STAR a full five days after the event, what a comic this paper is turning out to be, they may as well just sell it without anything printed in it just for the kids to write and draw in.
  14. They give a fantastic edge.I now realise why you charge £10, petrol and the re-covering of the wheels which is very expensive.
  15. God I retired to early if you can get £10 for sharpening a few knives.
  16. If I had access to a grindstone I would do them for free, in my time I must have whet over a million knives.
  17. I think if you asked them they woudnt mind popping over to your house and emptying your bin.
  18. Im afraid the Sheffield Bin men have had the good will knocked out of them, everything is to much trouble for them, "we cant take that, the lids not shut" what difference does it make to them if the lid is open, its a bloody wheelie bin, its on wheels, pull it and it moves, the lift mechanism can cope with a slighly ajar lid surely? My Daughter lives in Barlborough and their bin men take everything without a moan, they are excellent.
  19. I can remember when we used to queue up anywhere and a mate came along and to save him going to the end of the queue he used to say "pull me in" so he put his hand out so did I and "Pulled him into the queue" I cant remember anyone compaining about this childhood practice.
