  1. A lot of complainers used to get on my nerves during me stint in retail, but only due to how they chose to complain. A lot of the time, they would come in completely on the offensive, when in reality, I was a lot happier to assist people who wanted to settle whatever the matter was reasonably. I found that customer that came in with a good attitude were leaving the store a lot faster and a lot happier than the customers who came in all guns blazing.
  2. He could have a v8 petrol version, which, from what I gather from these messages, is more economical than my 2ltr Diesel In fact, 6.3ltr Mercedes, here I come. I'm only following orders.
  3. That my friend, is called being a ****
  4. My beef with any pothole repair, is that it never sits flush enough to the road to render it un-noticeable. Even with the repair, they do it so poorly, that going over it gives a shock almost the same as the pothole does.
  5. Over this past contract with EE which is ending next month, I haven't checked any of my bills, mainly because they don't send them via the post anymore and I never set up an account online to sort the account, my phone was stolen less than a year in to the contract, and when I used my new phone for the account it was a pain to do, so I left it. Anyway, I just glanced over my bills since it started, and I notice in late 2013 I had a bill for £187 and in early 2014 another for £237 The one for £237 I actually knew about, but only because I had a lady call from EE to ask me if I wanted to add a family member to my account for a cheaper deal this that and the other, anyway, I said no, and she happened to mention the large bill. Turns out my number was used to make calls to Morocco, I went through the fraud process as you do, turns out they wouldn't refund me. Even though it's pretty much on me, for not catching the charges, because of not checking the account, should they at least notify me of odd looking bills? my contract is $41/month, and has remained perfectly consistent throughout, so surely these odd charges would spark some interest from the systems that process them? Just a thought really.
  6. Fair enough, but with the headling ''Clarkson is just like Saville'' the media knew exactly what they were doing. Personally I just would rather know what's going to happen now, am I gonna get to see those last 3 episodes or not? am I going to get to see Alan Partridge on Top Gear.. personally I'd like both of those things.
  7. They had one in New York that was offering DNA tests for unsure fathers. Is it a new van? I'd be surprised if it was that, but, just an option isn't it.
  8. A friend who works round there told me the GTR is at the very top, but always looks spotless. I mean, if they're in the way, I'll take any one of them, if the owner likes...
  9. If what the 'witness' said was true, it sounds like he'd had a bad day, and some poor fella got the brunt of it. Of course, not condoning his apparent actions, no one should be spoken to like he apparently did. If ofcourse that is how it all went down, he'll soon enough issue his apologies and all will be back to normal. I think I read from someone on here before that when they were filming the Reliant film in Sheffield he was a nob to everyone involved, I've come to the conclusion, that I like his TV persona, but as a person, he is just.. not that nice.
  10. Has anyone seen the driveway up Crookes end somewhere with two SLS AMG's, a GTR and an Aston Martin on there that never seem to move? Would love to know the story behind it.
  11. Waste their time, it's what I do. If I ever get them I like to tell them that I ''can't remember I recently got out of hospital because of a head injury...but at least I have a new car I can drive if I remember how to''
  12. I can see this thread being pretty divided. Personally I enjoy watching him, I do think it would be a bad move for the BBC to get rid, if they kept Top Gear going it would not be the same. Mind you, if he keeps getting warnings from the BBC they might want to make an example of him.
  13. Ah well, as coincidence would have it... Apparently at some point earlier in the week the same was attempted again, so I hear. Seems like this happens like once a month or somethin'
  14. Instead of starting a new thread I'll ask here. What are the tram times over NYE? I never really have to do public transport, will they be running at about 7 ish? or later? I'm assuming it will be Sunday times? I checked the site, but their route planner doesn't have a NYE configuration.
  15. In all honesty, 8 and 9 are really good I've always lived on a council estate, personally, it doesn't fuss me, but after being on here a few times and seeing the way some people react to a comment about council estate residents, it's no surprise they've had to take it off the shelves.
  16. I noticed this last year when I took my car in for it's MOT, I've always used them for my MOT's. The new people there seem alright, tbh I have more issues with those prats next door washing cars, if I happen to park my cars shadow slightly over their invisible division line on the floor, they stand there gesturing and shouting.
  17. I don't quite get the appeal of this whole donut burger thing I keep seeing a lot of now days, to me donuts as bread seems really wrong. In regards to the thread - We're given the information, let them eat it if they wish, if you don't want to, you don't have to. That should really be the end of it,
  18. I have had this, only a couple of times. I tend to only get taxis from town after a night out, I live on Arbourthorne (not even £10 in fares) and previously I lived on Gleadless Valley (Again not even £10 in fares) yet some of them point blank refused to take me and a friend anywhere lest we put the money up front. If I'm being totally honest, if I trusted them more, I would happily give them my money up front, specially as it usually comes to around £8 ish I often let them keep the change. Also I regularly ask to stop off at a bank on the way home (if I'm being lazy and can't be bothered to walk to a cash point) and I've only ever had one problem, whereby a driver asked me to leave my phone in the cab. I explained my phone stays with me, and the outcome of that situation, less he let's me go to the cash point of course, is that he is getting nothing.
  19. Engineering, more specifically - CAD. Well I always had the impression (Coming from a family where I was the first to within both sides to want to go in to further education)we were often seen as louts, taking the governments money and blowing it on booze and useless stuff, and then we had that prat with the war memorial that really didn't help us that much. I can honestly see where the view comes from, amongst the Engineering department was a lot of the graphic designers and art students, who had the tendency to be unbelievably pretentious, they would fit the bill perfectly. As an Engineering student we found it wasn't as easy going as Art or Graphic Design of course, so without the right sort of discipline our assignments never really got good marks. I'm not going to lie and say I was all study, I had a LOT of nights out, but I also had a job through uni and financed a lot of stuff myself, it kind of kept me in check, knowing I had to put more important things before getting drunk on a night out.
  20. Rather irritatingly, it pains me to say that a lot of my fellow students in my subject area, were your typical students, if you go to your average person who never went to Uni etc, and ask them to describe your stereotypical student - they were it. To be honest, I hated students, even when I was one, I did have a large number of nights out with friends, but they were always reserved for the days where I had nothing to do, and I could spend the day being hungover. A fair amount of the work we had was done as pairs or 'teams' and we were always the ones there at 9 to get our work out of the way, it was a pain and got quite tedious, but it didn't have feel good to have a sizeable chunk of work done by the end of the day where the others were just rolling in hungover, and we were leaving. Unlike many students, I still came out with a degree, and never stayed later than perhaps... 7 o clock?
  21. It syncs very well, and I have the ''Ford'' icon on the screen, the radio shows the song and that it is playing, the time runs on, but there's no sound, I think instead of having to mess around I may just take it down to ford and ask if they know anything. One would assume they would lol. The stereo and display instantly recognises the connection and jumps straight in to ''iPod/Aux'' mode.
  22. Have a Ford Mondeo Titanium, 2011, with the Aux and USB input in the glove compartment, however when I connect the iPod it plays and syncs fine, but there is no sound. It is a 3rd Gen Nano, that I've had no need to replace, but I have read online that the age of the iPod software can cause play issues, as well as the software in the vehicle its self. Oh it's also the Sony DAB stereo in there. Wondered if anyone might have an idea how I myself may be able to get it working, if there is a silly button to press or...yknow.
  23. I once ate a whole plate of Malarias, like OP... but my health remained as poor as ever.
  24. what Land Rover was it? Defender, Disco, Freelander...
  25. I couldn't disagree more, all of my friends rave about the place and I just can't get on with it.
