I think I would prefer to leave my car in the bottom car park and as near to the platforms as I can just so it's in view of people passing through. I would imagine that the overflow would be quite deserted at times. I don't know that there have been any problems with break ins/damage etc. When you say early I guess you mean before 7am as it gets busy by then.

I'm meeting a female friend on Wednesday to have a trip out but we're not sure where to go. We'll have my 3 month old baby with us so also needs to be pram friendly. We're struggling to think of somewhere different to go and are assuming the weather is dry. We've already discounted Cannon Hall Farm, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, Chatsworth, Sheffield centre and Wentworth Garden Centre. Please can anyone provide any sensible suggestions for us? Ideally we'd like lunch and a stroll around somewhere outdoors. We don't need to go somewhere specifically for children, like a play centre, my son will be happy in his pram wherever we go as long as I feed him! Thanks in advance.

There are a few places around the Peace Gardens that are nice for food - Browns, Piccolino's and Ego (other side of the Mercure Hotel) or in Leopold Square there are Strada and Zizzi which are good. I believe that Bar & Grill is nice but I've not been. Enjoy!

I agree with Piccolino's for a business meal.

I would recommend it but it's not for everyone. I've had a membership for a few years and have bought all sorts. Family/friends have regularly bought nappies and wipes there as the prices are generally about the same/slightly better than other places but they often have offers so it's a chance to stock up. If you've got the space it's worth getting loo rolls, kitchen towel, boxes tissues etc I've bought a couple of TVs there before and today I've bought a new microwave/combination oven. I had a quick look online to compare prices and it was £50 cheaper than elsewhere - I might have got lucky with that one so don't assume all prices are that much cheaper! The pizzas are great for families or visitors. I also buy meat there. It is decent quality so I freeze in individual portions if not using. It may be worth asking if you can go and have a look. I think I've seen someone else mention that you can do that.

I've been a couple of times and food was lovely. ukdobby from memory I think they had a few real ale types as well as the regulars.

I used Avante and they were great. Search for them on the forum for other recommendations.

True but something does appear to have happened at JTF too. The road around it was closed earlier on and there was a fire engine directly outside the store with the car park closed and empty when I went past about an hour ago. Hope everyone's ok.

Hi HenHugger, my niece is nearly 8 months old and has been to stay with me a few times. I got a car seat for my car and a travel cot to keep at my house in one of the Asda Baby Events. If you leave it until the end of the sale they sometimes reduce the items - eg my car seat was £12.50. I have a blanket and sheets for the travel cot and I got baby shampoo/bubble bath/sponge/ducks(!) for bath time. Everything else travels with my niece - sleeping bag, clothes, nappies, milk powder/food, bottles, bath support, night monitor, toys etc. She's grown so quickly so wouldn't have got the use out of any clothes/toys that would have been left at my house. She's getting to the stage where she'll be on the move so I'm going to have to get a gate/barrier like medusa suggests. You won't need that for a few months so you've got time to save for it. Enjoy!

I used the Charity Unleashed voucher last year at the Leopold Hotel. I think it was the most expensive option which included a glass of champagne and I thought it was lovely, very civilised. It's not something I would have done ordinarily so not sure how it compares to St Paul's etc.

Dorothy Perkins Tall range can be good but occasionally limited. They have it at both stores in the city centre but not at Meadowhall. Next also have some trousers in extra long I think but not sure about jackets. I know you say you don't want to order online but it may be worth having a look in store and ordering similar from their website?

Butterfly House at North Anston is quite cute and children seem to be enjoying it when I visited a few weeks ago.

I heard them too. It's a tradition as part of an Asian wedding so guess that's what they're for.

It seems to have been successful so far. The restaurant village were busy yesterday and today and the market opened today and seemed popular too. It's a lovely atmosphere and a credit to Sheffield.

Was it due to be on tonight? It's not normally on now on Wednesdays unless they move an episode from another night like they did last week with the England match being played on Monday.

That bedding would certainly be a talking point! Dunelm Mill often has a good choice and it's good quality. I think TJ Hughes has some too but can't remember if they've just got curtains!

Boots at Meadowhall had a range of them at the weekend but I don't know if the one in town stocks them. Best wishes to those involved x

I'm afraid my experience with them is not a good one. I booked airport to accommodation transfers in Spain through them last year which did not turn up. The agency they used had an office in the airport which had been vacated and I wasted time and my phone bill trying to get through to the emergency numbers I had been provided with. In the end we had to get taxis as the calls were not answered. As soon as I got back I wrote to Alpharooms to express my dissatisfaction and request a refund. No response was received after about a month so I called a Sheffield number to be told they hadn't had a response from the overseas agency and I shouldn't be chasing them until 4 weeks had passed!?! I chased again a couple of times and was fobbed off again. It wasn't until I wrote to ATOL that they seemed to realise I was serious about a refund. Basically it took 3 months for them to refund the amount originally paid and they contributed to the mobile calls I had made chasing up, but I was still left out of pocket with all the time spent chasing and calls made on payphones. I certainly won't be using them again which is a shame as I chose them due to them being a local company. I think I Googled them to get a Sheffield number which will hopefully be cheaper for you to call. Good luck.

The chocolate museum is near Grand Place, that's worth an hour or so. They have open top bus tours. If you do that there is a stop near Mini Europe which is quite cute. That's also near the Atomium which I'm fairly sure you can go up. Then of course there are the waffle stalls, lace shops and lots of chocolate shops!
