  1. unable to use link, do i need to put in a search word or option as it just seems to take me to the search page. cheers.
  2. I moved to Walkley three years ago from a market village in Lancashire, and I love it here. love the characters that wonder around and make up what is a fantastic village in Sheff. I've done a bit of travelling before finding this gem of a place to live and was curious where has everyone else been. to start the ball rolling here is where I have visited/lived on my travels. Qatar, Bahrain, U.A.E., Hong Kong, Japan, America, Cyprus, Germany, Holland, France, Portugal, Slovakia, Wales, Scotland and various regions of England.
  3. weekdays, a bowl of bran flakes and a handful of raisens followed by a couple of pieces of toast when the canteen opens. saturdays are cousiants (sp?) days fresh from the bakery. Sundays pancakes with all the trimmings.
  4. went through Brat last Feburary on our way to the High Tatras for our SNOWBOARDING holiday.... pack warm, really really warm!!! we didn't stay in Bratislava long, just the train and bus station, everything has a very eastern block ex communist feeling to it. however the people are fantastic, desperate to try out their English, the food is brilliant (more to the slovak cuisine than potatos and mushrooms) and the beer is cheap, exceptionally cheap, last year it was about 12p for a litre of budva! have a fantastic couple of days but dress for snow!
  5. would love to see government incentitives/tax breaks for recycling and using "green" energy sources. better public transport (cheaper, frequent and reliable) and more cycle lane / paths to help with real transport needs. someone to invent windows are also solar panels, for the same price as normal windows. Additional to this, ANY green alternative to a current environmental polluting product should be made availble at competative prices. for renewable energy to be considered a major energy source and not just some thing that hippies think would be really cool to do. to grow more of my own produce so that i don't have to buy it from shops. i could personally do soo much more but for one reason or the other don't.... note to self DO MORE!
  6. hello all... tag name is my first name and first inital of my surname.... hated my name as a kid as i got teased tremendously but love it now. avatar is of Alias the Jester, a cartoon which i can't quite remember the first time round but my fella has it on video and its class.
  7. think this could be a good time to talk to them about it, to kind of coinside with the DoNation week and everything... I think you should otherwise they won't know for sure what you wanted.
  8. Up in til a year ago i was totally against the idea of carrying a donor card, I believed that my cells made me who I was, in spirit. Then I read a book called Stiff by Mary Roach, which in a totally human way explained what your body can contribute to after you've finished with it. I was completely amazed and inspired. I don't carry a card but I'm on the donor database, all of my family and close friends know that I would like to offer my bits and pieces to anyone who needs them once I've gone, then with what's left is going to science. If I help one person live after I've gone then wow, that's amazing and you can't say that if you don't donate!
  9. thought i'd give this message a bit a push up to the top as it's happening this week. I'm terrified of needles, I physically shake as soon as i realise I'm going to have an injection but mange to give blood. If you can't make this session because its out of the way or our working there is a centre in Sheffield that have earlier and later sessions throughout the week. Please get yourselves down there. It takes about half an hour for your first session, thats with the filling in the form and having a quick medical, and that's it you've helped save someones life. if nothing else you get a free drink and biscuit, friendly conversation just for your time.....
  10. hello, there is another one in Ponderosa Park in Crooksmoor.
  11. are you looking for a yoga or aerobics class? your title says one and the message another... sorry i can't help for either but this might assist someone else help you. hth. good place to look though is the notice boards/shop windows of local shops.... there's always three or four advertised in ours (Walkley).
  12. was recommended a website that might be of use, I'm starting their beginners programme tonight. http://www.girlsruntoo.co.uk hope this helps.
  13. accident was filmed on south road, nr netto. but they built out a false shop fronts so this might be why you can't recognised it.
  14. i have been spared this experience, has had a leather bomber(esque) jacket or hawanian shirt on. wasn't sure the first time I saw him if i was imagining the likeness but subsequent conversations and this thread has at last proved my thoughts wrong and that Elvis is officially alive and well in Sheffield.
  15. i've seen him a couple of times in Crooksmoor but he's never in full Elvis garb. or he was in the "army casual look". he always makes me smile.
  16. sorry to hear that trickshots have got rid of their tables. (sorry for the duff info). have spotted this on another thread and thought it might be of use. http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?s=&threadid=49285
  17. ... with very long legs to reach the heights that they have
  18. i can't tell, if it's any help its the same one thats on almost all of the power boxes, etc in the area. what's a shame is that last weekend the same traffic junction looked fantastic, with a gaggle of pot geese waiting to cross the road from the furniture shop.
  19. Why do you feel the need to put your tag everywhere, it looks bloody awful! I have absolutly nothing against grafetti art / murals but mindless tagging just winds me up. Your recent addition to the kitchen / bathroom shop door front, at the traffic lights in Crooksmoor, has escpecially infuriated me. Why have you defaced someone else property? street furniture... ok in theory your parents or yourself pay council tax and feel that this might justify it as yours to do as you please. but again why spray on shop fronts. did you just run out of room on everything else that you have adourned with your scrawl!!! I have nothing to do with the shop, i don't know the owners or anyone who has bought anything from there. Please have a bit of pride in where you live and/or respect where others do. I would normally apologise for my rant but i won't because you have genuinely vexed me with your actions.
  20. hi Red, thanks for your welcome. keep forgetting that noone can see that i've read their posts/replies unless i put my thoughts online. saying things to the monitor doesn't appear to count. doh!
  21. passes clean hankie..... getting a bit full in this corner don't you think.
  22. try having a look in at Trickshots at Hillsborough. There were a few really good players the last time i was down there.
  23. my thoughts exactly, and the staff at the underground have done an outstanding job of clearing areas without mass hysteria. granted they might not have know what exactly was going on, but worked exceedingly well.
