Anyone worked for Thomas A Ashton Ltd

I worked at Thomas ashtons in the early 70,s I made plastic comb cases , and remember the name barry , and a couple of girls who lived up near millhouses park . I walked out at lunchtime and started working at the cardboard box factory after lunch. -
jeb 1 , what years are we talking about , I think I remember a keith millar being at Southey the same time as me , 1966/70 , then there were , mrs carr , mr bishop , miss may , mr gower , to name but a few

looking for carol russel,linda polskey, janet, christine wright , maureen sarsons , diane battersby , all from southey green high school 66 to 70. and pat , my best friend , whose married name escpes me , but we did meet briefly again in barnsley .

don,t know , just been back to sheffield for a week , never saw one all the time i was there.

lived in torre de la horadada for nearly 5 years now beautiful area , 5 mins from beaches , not touristy , lots of english , spanish , german , residential mainly , 15 mins from murcia airport .

i live in a beautiful area of spain , caravan site opened last year with indoor and outdoor pool , cafeteria . 5mns from 3 beaches, shops , bars and restaurants, in torre de la horadada, costa blanca . 1 hr 15mns south of benidorm. weather at the moment 25 degrees. lots to do in the summer for old and young .if you can,t find torre on a map look for murcia or pilar.

yes i did have blond hair, but from the terrace i went to work at the co,op , the court house, and then started my own catering businesses up on shepcote lane and birley , after 4 years had enough and went to work at HSBC bank on silver street head, until we decided to move here. thanks for writing , as you know , we are an hour in front here, so it is 11.45 , but i would like to keep in touch . speak soon i hope . sharon.

my name is sharon , i remember working with a lady called pamela but cannot put a face to the name . there were that many people coming and going at that time , and it is a long time ago . do you see any of the old girls.the last time i saw julia was when she brought her new baby girl to my house and she will probably be 14 years old now.

you must remember jenny zhon, small chubby always getting into trouble for going for a cig , always telling daft jokes . sorry , i can,t place you , such a long time ago.do you still see brenda, if you see her tell her i have been living in spain for 4 years now but still remember the old times working with her. are you still working.

palascrubs , what is your name, do you remember jenny who used to raid all the ashtrays on the tables for fag ends, i was friends with julia milner, went to maxines wedding reception on prince of wales road, and later on worked at the terrace cafe in the co op with brenda a few years later, also there was a girl called sue , really bushy dark hair who lived near fleur de lyes pub.

i used to work at the terrace cafe, i was there when diana, princess of wales visited sheffield cutlers hall, i remember heather , maxine , julia , jenny , brenda, and the dirty old man that was our boss , his name escapes me.

ukdobby, i was at sgh fron 1966 to 1970. i lived on dryden drive , i have three brothers, they went to shirecliffe though. their names are mick, andy and keith weldon. my friends were, diane battersby, maureen sarsons janet and christine wright.carol russell, i remember ricky thompson. pete stancill ,most of the ones that have been mentioned from my years, i remember, strage that, seeing as i can,t think what i did this morning. shaz.

ukdobby , just thought i would let you know that i too went to southey green school and remember some of the same names as you. oh , and just to let you know, if you still live in rojales, i live in torre de la horadada , i don,t think it is far from you.

I worked at Presto Tools from 1972 to 1974 , i worked in the office with Clive Swallow, and in John Childs office on the shop floor, i also remember Mr Wentworth, the German lady called Lisa, who had the habit of throwing things around the office at people if she was angry . Also John McGhee, who never spoke a word to me all the time i was there, and a proper gentleman was his father , i think there was a lady called Joy who worked in an office right at the back of the factory, didn,t she win the pools.

reading about southey green school has brought a lot of memories flooding back, mainly names i couldn,t remember, a few of these people are now living in spain not far from me . if you remember sharon weldon, and you want to get in touch, please feel free to do so. sgs from 1964 to 1970.

to sidseburns , yes we lived on erskine crescent, i have 3 brothers, mick andy and keith, mum,s gone now , but jim, my dad is still with us, from there my mum went to work at leighton view. -

bushbaby. if you look in issue no. 30 of the star retro paper, dated 7th august 2010 , on page 8 top right ther is a picture of eddie bedstead, i have only heard of him through the forum, i lived on parson cross in the 60,s, he is described as a colourful character.
