The WORST drivers, which cars do they drive?

Recommended Posts

sorry mate but i take exception to the ka being in your list ,only coz i have one, i have held my license for over 25 yr's ,(accident free & no dis-qualifications) and in that time have had over 60 cars of all shapes & size's ,makes & marque's

for "crap drivers", you should be looking at a/ any bmw driver

b/ any taxi driver

but far and away the worst drivers are those in " chelsea tractors",as they obviously buy the road too when they get one.

Ok, just be careful in it though.

Silver BM 3 series are the worst I think, I think I said taxis earlier in the thread, I can't remember it varies day to day. Today it's myself for upsetting these good drivers on Penistone Rd but not sure what car I'll be in later when I'm terrorising them all.

Out of interest, why do you think car make or model helps to identify bad drivers.

Most people start off with small cheap cars and depending on desire and available funds move up to more expensive and/or bigger/faster cars.

There isnt normally any sudden drop in ability when one buys a BMW, nor a volvo, nor any other type of car.

In my experience, the worst drivers tend to be those wearing a head covering of some kind, whether that's an old bloke in a hat or a young bloke in a baseball cap. I always assume they're going to do really stupid things, and take extra care around them.

I have to agree with you there. Like I always say to the wife when one dawdles in front of me " He wears it to keep his brains warm"

You'd think eouldn't you, but there it is!

No, I jest. I think a lot of the time their ability to afford a bigger car allows people to drive the way they wanted to while owning a smaller car.

It also means quite likely they have been on the road longer so may have become a bit blase (sp?) about their (bad?) driving habits they have picked up.

I think that tends to be true of some people who get company cars and have cars they would never dream of buying if they paid for them themselves. My son was telling me of a mate recently who got a job with company car and hadn't passed his test. He took his test and was given a brand new Audi A6. Pretty good incentive to pass mind but that is a pretty powerful big car for a complete novice.

There is a possiblity that these drivers were always bad but for some reason bad drivers want a bmw?

Or it could be that many bmw's are company cars and so people care very little about them and so drive with less attention to safety.

Or it could be that big shiny bmw's are more memorable than small rusty escorts and so it's only the perception that is any different.

Without some statistics from the police or insurance companies it would be very difficult to say really. Anecdotal evidence is rarely reliable.

No part of the highway code is itself compulsory. It's use of 'must' and 'should only makes the distinction between what the law says is compulsory or not.

(pedant mode off). ;)
