Hate Demo Bill Soars To 25 Million Pound.

Fury as policing pro-Palestine marches costs taxpayers more than £25m ‘while placing unsustainable burden on police’

Over 4,000 rest days have been cancelled in three months to ensure forces have capacity to patrol the marches.

PRO-Palestine marches have cost taxpayers more than £25million while placing “unsustainable” burdens on the police, MPs have warned.

They said the protests over Israel’s military response to the October 7 Hamas terror attacks are seriously disrupting officers’ ability to fight crime.

Gaza demos in London have swallowed up 26,121 Met shifts so far.

The cross-party Home Affairs Committee also details the shocking surge in hate crime at them.

One top cop told them: “On every occasion so far we have found offences of hate crime, supporting a proscribed organisation and people looking to intimidate.

“They are very small numbers but they exist nonetheless.”

Could they be held in places where the police could have more control and be televised to get media attention,  e.g.  parks/ arenas?  Where they could be contained?

Another wrong title  -  Pro Palestine Support demo's are just that and NOT  "Hate"  demos.

Your introduction tells us there is a   "shocking surge"   in hate crime at these demos and then goes on to say   "They are very small numbers but they exist nonetheless"

How do we equate very small numbers as a "shocking surge"

It's to be expected   although not welcomed,   that you get a small number of nuts attending almost every demo in these days when everyone has got a beef about something.

More effort into stopping the bloodshed of innocent civilians may have helped people into realising that Pro Palestine Demo's were not necessary or helpful.

We are still one of the only 2 countries in the world, who refuse to back move towards peace.   The entire rest of the world wants to see the killing stop.

The fact that they don't even mention how many people have attended and how many of those have been arrested (to give people a sense of how much of a "hate march" it really is) is very telling.

The whole thing reads like some journalist had been badgering a police officer to say something that could be, out of context, used as a quote to support the paper's angle.

It certainly is.

Scandalous when money is wasted on domestic issues too.

It would not cost anything if the UK and the USA backed the UN and the fighting stopped.

Exactly what I thought too.   Just another attempt to stir up differences and hate again.

Its not clear from that article, but I think that the £25m figure includes the marches against antisemitism.

If we put a stop to the growing divisions,  we will also be putting a stop to the never ending marches.

Lets hope we get less more law enforcement,  home and International,  and less division when Labour take power.
