I get where you’re coming from here, but it’d be like Tesco publishing details of Asda prices and offers.

Unfortunately for you the companies are in competition with each other. As I’ve said before this all goes back to de regulation of bus services in 1986 when everything was “privatised”, thanks to thatcher.

They are NOT  competing I specifically chose the 86 route because Stagecoach run most of the services but late night and Sunday buses are run by First

I kind of see where you are coming from, but, and might just be me,  a quick google lists both operators, one under the other in the search results. Easy enough to click both?

Why would anyone click both unless they knew that they service was split between the two . Anyone looking at the stagecoach timetable for the 86 would simply assume there was no sunday service

bustimes.org Is a great resource for timetables and live tracking of any bus in Britain. You can type in your destination, origin or bus operator and route and you will find timetables and calling points.

Yes but my point was about why stagecoach and First buses do not include all buses on a route . I could also use the PTE timetable which show all buses. The problem is wen I google bus 86 sheffield timetable most people would click on the first link

I find the SYCMA (ne SYPTE) website very poor. It was fairly useless last week, in covering the snow chaos, too.

I rarely use it since during some long planed work on the tram network with services suspended they could not be bothered to update the journey planner

Then why not use the timetables produced by TSY - they incorporate both operators services?

I suggested that - & got the response that I clearly did not understand his / her question

For the same reason Asda do not advertise Morrisons prices. There are a businesses.

Timetables that they produce are for their services.

Of course they’re competing. They are two private independent companies, how can they not be competing?

Well done ECCOnoob, I said exactly the same earlier using Tesco and Asda. I’m not sure that BigAl1 understands the meaning of the phrase “in competition with each other”.
