Schools In Lockdown After Armed Police Sent To Serious Assault

Recommended Posts

Armed police officers have been sent to the scene of a "serious assault" in a south Wales town which has forced nearby schools into lockdown.

Police said emergency services were called to Moy Road in Aberfan, Merthyr Tydfil, just before 09:10 GMT.

People have been asked to avoid the area while armed police "effectively deal with this incident", South Wales Police added.

Would have been an idea to say 'some Welsh schools' and not suggest the incident was related to the schools. Or even better, to not over-dramatise the incident at all.

Sorry, Daddy, but you do have a tendency to be a tad dramatic.

Mind you, the BBC report doesn't help - they are trying to dramatise an incident they clearly have little information about.

Apologies - I see that now. Mind you, I take most media reports (msm or otherwise) with an extremely large pinch of salt.

There is a rumour doing the rounds which is pretty monstrous if true and aligned with other current scenarios. It doesn't sound good.

I did mention a rumour in my op but edited it out as it's unconfirmed.

Domestic violence incident imo. More than likely blown out of proportion.

A parent friend that lives in London had something similar. Because there was a nearby incident, her childs school went into lockdown.

This must cause fear in young children, unneccessary in most cases.

Don't know, ongoing investigation I expect. The latest should be on the BBC I expect.
