Jason crock   10 #26 Posted August 23, 2017 Totally agree.  Benefits should be paid in vouchers that can only be used in supermarkets (no cigarettes or alcohol) and with energy companies.  And a travel ban. If you are on benefits then there is no way you can should be able to afford a holiday.  And how people manage to buy and keep a car i'll never know.  I don't think the ripper uses supermarkets or goes on holiday. And he hasn't driven for years.
 Share this content via...
Lord Rex   10 #27 Posted August 23, 2017 (edited) Now we are leaving the EU and the EU court's jurisdiction, as a sovereign nation we should bring back the death penalty and then issues such as the Yorkshire Ripper's eyesight would be irrelevant. Funky_Gibbon   42 #30 Posted August 23, 2017 is the EU the only reason why we are a civilised country?  It's certainly beginning to appear that way. I think some people want to turn back the clock to before the Renaissance just because that had something to do with Europe. Daven   10 #32 Posted August 24, 2017 Why should a mentally ill person be denied NHS treatment?  Why should ANYONE be denied treatment from the NHS ? The NHS has a duty of care regardless of past misdemeanors .
 Share this content via...

It does nothing to prevent crime, it's barbaric and uncivilised and it's morally indefensible.  If you're so keen on killing people maybe you ought to join IS or move to Saudi Arabia. Jim Hardie   531 #36 Posted August 24, 2017 It's morally indefensible. If taking human life is wrong, we shouldn't do it.  Tell that to the families of the 35 people killed by convicted murderers in the UK in just ten years.  http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-16638227
 Share this content via...
