it does but aswell as miscarriages of justice, it also doesnt work in stopping people from murdering etc in the first place

Which I'm more than happy with. You can't be released if a new bit of evidence has turned up if you've been executed.

But look how many convicted murderers have been freed in the last 20 years through being exonerated by DNA testing. Too late for them had they been executed. Also In 1950 Timothy Evans was hanged for killing his wife and daughter .10 Rillington place tells that story.
