In the long run it ended up being positive for us, unfortunately for you, your positive point came and went with Clough! So it's no big deal sacking Adkins then is it? Yes, mccabe said he was going for longevity, didn't want to be seen as a sacking club and said in a lengthy interview a few weeks ago that Adkins would be there next season.
