gwyn_roberts
In the 1950 and 1960s, when I was a child, my grandparents used to buy me and my brothers new clothes from a Gents outfitters in Hillsborough. The shop was opposite Woolworth's shop. I can visualise it but I cannot recall the name. Does anyone recall this shop?

Allen
I remember there was a Greenwoods mens outfitters but that was on the corner of Bradfield Road. Didn't Burtons trade from here before Greenwoods?
outdoors
Greenwoods traded here from the early 90's, taking the shop over from Burtons ......now a Subway (eating shop). Upstairs was a betting shop, Thorpes.
mikeG
I worked in the Bank next to Burtons. Bought my first suit from there in 1960. Cost £7/10/-, which was a third of my monthly salary.
outdoors
I think you could get full fitted out for about £12 in those days!
