potlegs
yep, you're probably right, surprised it still runs ---------- Post added 06-05-2015 at 21:40 ---------- Ha, didn't the 53 take a similar route as the 42 years ago, think I used to get one of them sometimes on my way to the Temple I can't help you there GV - sorry I never caught them. These days the 53 goes from Ecclesfield to Lowedges , and the 42 ends up at Crystal Peaks. I sometimes catch the 79 or 79a from the water tower straight through to Hillsborough park gates - and that is where my economising usually ends One bus trip a fortnight is quite enough for me. Veritas
I think it was the 101 that went to herdings, 105 was arbourthorne I think that could be correct with the 102 possibly terminating at Gleadless townend

phantom309
Think it was the number 53 IIRC which turned into the herdings went past the Cutlers and the terminated just before the old peoples home. The 53 went between Herdings and Lodge Moor and we used to do the round trip as kids for a laugh. Or was it the 52? I'll go with 53, init a pain when you're getting older,LOL ---------- Post added 06-05-2015 at 20:55 ---------- But the 33 went to the Gaunt, full of drug dealers but I think its a lot better these days, 53 was Deerlands Avenue to Low Edges 42 Foxhill to Graves Park 51 Lodge Moor to Pinfold Street ( when they did away with 101,102 and 105 ) it 51 went to Gleadless Townend via Gleadless Common , at least they did when I was driving them

Always full as well, you had to be there when the doors opened at the weekend or you could not get a seat.
