kelly4danny
My dad bought a Citroen. Was lovely when it was new, but now four years down the line its a bit tired. Shabby build and only worth a fraction of what he paid for it. The depeciation on french cars is unreal. My brothers fiesta is the same age, still going well and looks nice, and is still worth a bit. Im sure others will tell you that french cars are great, but have a look on the private ads, and you will see they are pretty much worthless after a few years, not to mention a bit odd looking!! Blast
I'll third the Car People down near the old airport. Not pushy at all - you have to approach them. We bought a nearly new Focus - had multiples of the same model in stock with similar mileage so it came down to a choice of colour and what extras each model had?. Norseman
I bought my current car from Perrys in Doncaster, really nice people who don't work on commission so no pushy salesmen so whether you buy new or second hand the experience is the same. I also got a good trade in on my 19 year old car for a 9 year old car in PX with mega low mileage Though I've not bought a car from Bristol Street motors yet (though this is on the cards for my next car) I've found their staff really helpful in the Nissan part of the company, they used to be called Harratts From experience avoid Evans Halshaw on Penistone Road as in addition to very pushy sales people you have to pay for an HPI check £100 even though all cars sold through dealers are done automatically for £1. Its all pay pay pay with them, hidden extras etc. My experience with them wasn't good and they have definitely lost a customer in me, yet a work colleague recommends the branch in Rotherham. The Birmingham branch kept phoning me...when are you coming, what time, you need to pay a deposit huh? even though I asked them not to call me, be wary.... ---------- Post added 02-08-2014 at 20:36 ---------- nice one Further to my post above avoid Bristol Street Motors, very pushy, tried to get me to put a deposit down on a car I really wasn't 100% on and now they keep phoning me and won't stop...beware
kaleidoscope
Got ours from the Car Shop, Doncaster. You get a seven-day period to bring the car back for a full refund (less any mileage you have done) if you are not happy with it. I would use them again. Don't, however, have them apply a "protective coating" to the car. If you want one, go to someone who specialises in this. The Car Shop employee who carried out the coating on our car was pretty slapdash and we had to have them do it again.

truman
£7,000 or £27,000? 6 month or 4 years is reasonable new? Being as the thread is 6 months old I suspect it's irrelevant now... 4 years isn't reasonably new...
