Nice to see! Must be a bit breezy out there.

Just been to see them. Loads of people were there having a look and photographing them.

One was flapping about in nest, one sat on the camera, then popped onto the roof, and one on the ledge, looking a bit stuck! The male fed that one on the ledge earlier. The female is perched on a spire thing, and the male was swooping around.

Fantastic sight. Really worth going to have a look peeps! :)

You'll need binoculars though of course

One was flapping about in nest, one sat on the camera, then popped onto the roof, and one on the ledge, looking a bit stuck!

From what I saw of the birds yesterday, what people told me and what the public talk contained, here's the full rundown:

  1. One chick had a bit of a fly yesterday but got grounded; it had been taken back up to the top of the tower, from which it was poking its head out through the crenellations and doing a bit more flapping
  2. A second chick must have also been flying, because it was sitting on the lintel of one of the louvre windows half way down the tower
  3. A third chick was out on the ledge around the tower, doing a fair bit of hopping around and practice flapping
  4. The fourth chick (the smallest) was sitting quietly on top of the nest box

They're not quite sure about the smallest chick: it might be from the last egg to hatch and is simply a little way behind the others in development; or it might be that it hasn't fed as well as the others; or it might be a male (males are smaller than females); or any combination of those. Difficult to tell.

Taken back by whom?
