The parkrun thread

Recommended Posts

I've done all of the Yorkshire and Humberside ones - currently 29 events.

In total I've done 78 different parkruns, but my friend from the Striders has done 86. We are both well behind the World leader though as he has done 204 different ones!

Well, the parkrun lingo for getting on the Worldwide 'Most Events' table (30 different events) is 'uber tourist' if that helps!

Dunno tbh without having a google :D There's also no Rovrem Parkrun this Saturday 6th Sept as the Rovrem show is coming to town

So it looks like a couple of us are going to try our luck at the steeplechase circuit aka Rother valley :)

Sheffield Hallam parkrun?

Not done that since I saw someone twang into a bench and hit the deck.

Maybe Graves or Castle

There was an influx of people from over the border when Clumber was cancelled a couple of weeks ago.

On the Castle course the straight section from the bottom of the course to the top can be scary.

My tip is to mentally break it up into 5 sections -

1. Flat bit away from the corner - hold your pace.

2. Steep bit - survive it.

3. Flatter bit - try to regain some pace and relax.

4. Steep bit - survive it.

5. The top - get back onto normal running asap especially on lap three.

There , sorted, easy.

Well writing it was ;-)

I will be there - I usually jog down and jog around round the back of the start line.

50 T shirt and probably black shorts
