  1. Have tried Poolsbrook Yet Jemson ? Nice and flat too
  2. Blizard Physiotherapy based at Bircotes and ask for Dave Tune a former GB runner. http://www.blizardphysiotherapy.co.uk/
  3. Keep it up, you will get there. Training for Retford Half here in March but things not been going to well with the training atm. Had 10 days off with an awful cold which i'm just starting back into the training. Which end of the Sheffield / Chesterfield border ?
  4. Was listening to the discussion on Radio Sheffield on Wednesday evening and during the conversation between the host and a caller (Blade) it was mentioned that only the Premiership clubs DO have a duty to reimburse travelling fans when fixtures are moved like this. Apparently that's in the contract with Sky.
  5. There's a Nissan dealership on Attercliffe Road Sheffield South Yorkshire S4 7WW which is about a 15 minute walk from where you are staying. Maybe they can help ?
  6. Did you see the young lad taking pics of inside the car ? Thought he was looking for something to nick from the car lol. It's a bit ironic thought that the supporters aren't entirely happy with the increased ticket prices and then welcome the guy (if you can call it a welcome) looked more like a lynch mob
  7. I did it a couple of years ago mainly for a running related bit of fun "Jantastic" I think it was called. Anyhow I remained Alcohol free for a whole 6 months which wasnt easy as I had roughly 45 Gallon of wine maturing and a selection of 150+ bottles sitting in the garage One thing I will add though, I ran most of my PB's during this time :D
  8. I have several different pairs of runners each for particular kinds of runs or training sessions if you like. Green Silence very lightweight and my favourite shoe mainly used for intervals and speed sessions only the occasional 5k if i'm in good form. Asics Gel lytes 33 2 my normal regular running shoe comfortable for anything from 1 mile to perhaps marathon distance (20 miles is my furthest) Brooks trail shoes for off road winter base training or off road running if its wet weather. I'm wanting to try out the "On" running shoes as they encourage a forefoot transition through the gait cycle but not sure it would suit my style of running so for now I'll stick to my mid foot (ball of foot) strike.
  9. Your easiest way to achieve this is to start off slower than you already are and build it up gradually and use a HR monitor if you not already doing so. Failing that and if you really really want to progress go and have a Lactate test done and get your training zones set.
  10. To improve you Threshold pace you will also need to know at what point your body produces lactate and how long it takes to shift it. Without this you are pretty much guessing so you will be either under or over training which in turn is pretty pointless as all you will accomplish is maintaining your fitness levels after a certain amount of time
  11. I've done it twice previously and found it a lot less hassle tbh. You will however have to meet there part exchange criteria whatever that may be as they all differ from builder to builder and plot to plot.
  12. Well done Waldo, from what i've heard it's quite a tough one. A few from Clowne just on the borders were there today too. As for another Parkrun, how about Poolsbrook country park ? it could include part of the TPT if needed for the distance.
  13. I would presume it'll be the reminder about under 11's not running alone and should be with an adult throughout the whole run
