Flanker7 Â Â 20 #589 Posted August 22, 2014 Ready for it on our 'home' runs this parkrun day. I forecast a big turnout, if the 'grass frost' is only a usual met office over cautions warning. Â Then the holidays will be over and the students back to crash through the 1,000 mark on 9th Sept.
 Share this content via...

Waldo   96 #591 Posted August 22, 2014 I looked yesterday on the website and it said the first wave was sold out. Mebbe the Park run chiefs could look into it and see if we can all chuck paint at each other on a weekly basis and perhaps the numbers will rise  On a more serious note the entries for the Bawtry Forest Trail run are now open 7th Sept.........I'm in anyone else fancy it ? A nice flatish multi terrain run around Bawtry Forest just shy of 7 miles  http://maltbyrunningclub.co.uk/   Also on the 21st Sept is another nice local trail run http://www.crystalpeaks-runners.co.uk/Moss_Valley_Madness.php  Doing the Vale of York HM on the 7th, hopefully doing Ashbourne on the 14th, but Moss Valley Madness sounds interesting...  Have you done MVM before? Any idea what the terrain is like? Have a long term ankle injury, so not so good on uneven ground.
 Share this content via...

As an overview it's undulating and a mixture of grass, trail and tarmac but nothing really really uneven. I used it as a decent tempo session last year and will do the same this year. I used it as a decent tempo session last year and will do the same this year.  Thanks Winemaster. Sounds like I'd probably be okay with my duff ankle on it. However, looks like I'll be in Filey (beach race) on the 21st. http://www.fileylionsclub.co.uk/
 Share this content via...

For those that may prefer a road race there's also the Brinsworth 10k shortly http://brinsworth10k.co.uk/
 Share this content via...
Waldo   96 #596 Posted August 25, 2014 Thanks Winemaster. Yeah, it's a fun one! Did Filey for the last 3 years or so; more of a day out than a serious race - definitely good fun. First km is downhill to the beach; then 8 km out and back on varying degrees of wet-sand; last km uphill (very steep - mountaineering equipment wouldn't go amiss) to the finish. Last year had a swim in the sea after the race! *brrr*
 Share this content via...
jemson   10 #597 Posted August 26, 2014 My OH did the parkrun at Shrewsbury on Saturday and PBed on a nice course with net downhill. I`m thinking I might head to Hillsboro on Saturday to have done all Sheff Parkruns following Concord a fortnight ago. .
 Share this content via...

Did we talk about this before? isn't there someone who has done all in Yorkshire?  In other news - as the americans say - we got our backsides handed to us at the national relay champs at the weekend.  (please help me out join the group in my sig
 Share this content via...
Flanker7   20 #599 Posted August 26, 2014 Nicola Forward from 'The parkrun Show' http://www.marathontalk.com/parkrun.php  has done all the Yorks & Humbs parkruns . . . at least she had, but new ones keep popping up. (Humberside is a thing of the past for everyone but the Police and Fire Service and parkrun). There was a suggestion that someone doing all runs in a parkrun area is called a Regionaire. Three of our crew have done all the runs in South Yorks but I don't know what to call it!  Daan saath all within the M25 is called LON-DONE, geddit.
