ChrisT70
the city planners must get a bonus for working out new ways to slow down cars in sheffield. it doesnt seem to sink in that people need cars and wont use the woeful public transport systems! maybe if they'd done a proper job in supertram and made it go all over the city? 1978
BBC attention for once. But hang on, Radio 4 Open Country had a piece about the Longshaw Ants last week, just outside Sheffield, see; http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/episode/b03859n1/Open_Country_The_Ants_of_Longshaw_Estate/ Â Rumour has it that the One Show on BBC has been alerted and have been crawling around for a story. Dunno if it will get aired, but the cameras were there last week. Â Down to earth reporting of highly active workers.
DT Ralge
And 80% of statistics are either made up or extremely questionable. In my recent experience, Leeds is no better, nor is Nottingham, Bristol, Manchester or anywhere else. And 80% of Sheffielders are very quick at having a pop at the Council, blind to the possibility that the study is flawed. Clumber
and to think people slate cyclist!. who take up much less space, and in fact help with the congestion, if they were not on bikes it would be cars or even buses. Especially when they deliberately run red lights, eh monkey? Â Â Â Â Posted from Sheffieldforum.co.uk App for Android

tbtc
Slowest in yorkshire, based on the size of sheffield , an absolute non story only surprise is its slower than leeds. How amazing? Â I was sure that they said "slowest in Yorkshire" on BBC Radio Sheffield this morning - which really isn't news - there are only really two big cities in Yorkshire, so the story is that traffic in Sheffield (with steep hills that stop new roads from being built in some areas) is slower than traffic in Leeds (with an inner city motorway and the M621 a lot closer to the city centre than the M1 is to central Sheffield). Â Obviously some people queue up to bash SCC at this news, but I think that this says more about them than it does about this non-story.
ruffy
Look north has been told to talk about Sheffield more after sheffielders complained they felt ignored. ---------- Post added 28-08-2013 at 20:42 ----------  The story about slowest traffic is meaningless.  Look north is joking because they have to find stories about sheffield can we have a link ?
