Crazy
Which would you recommend for food and drinks on first date Thanks x x
willman
Not DE Rodes, the food is terrible . It's okay if you're both ladened with kids and have no wish for a nice chat or food.
sheffgrow
neither of them sound very romantic for a first date
Iron Feliks
Neither, unless you want the first date to stand a good chance of being the last! Agree with the comment on the De Rhodes. Of you want to eat out you'd be better off eating out of paper standing on the pavement outside a decent chippy. Can anyone recommend Wetherby's off the Parkway? Bad_Hair_Day
For a first date? The Moss Brook is a lot better than the Treble Bob & De Rhodes, and only a couple of miles down the road. Hope it goes well!
milton152
Intrigued now... Which one did you go to?
DerbyTup
Neither. If you are set on Barlborough then the Dusty Miller would be a better choice. Or get him to take you to Van Dyke's just down the road.
DLJ72
Barlborough has some good pubs but DeRodes and Treble Bob are not them! I work with one of the other establishments in the village, so it would be biased of me to recommend a specific one! The ones that don't belong to any big chain are Rose & Crown, Royal Oak and The Dusty Miller so they are all different from the mass produced chain ready meals! mrs patching
Has The Dusty Miller improved ? . Went in a couple of years ago and it was terrible, tired décor , cold food and no one in there apart from us.
sedith
I would stay away from the Crown Carvery pubs like the De Rhodes, Moorlands etc, the food is cheap but dire, what does £3.95 for a carvery say to you, you get what you pay for? The Treble Bob is more expensive but the food isn't much better. Both these places are teaming with kids racing about.
