Low flying WW2 plane

Recommended Posts

Did anyone see the low flying plane around 4.30pm? I think it was a Lancaster, or maybe a Halifax bomber.

I saw it from the flyover in Beighton, heading towards Handsworth roughly on course with the river. I never appreciated just how quiet yet majestic these aircraft were, and how low they could actually travel safely.

The guy I spoke to was certain it was going to crash into the marshes at Beighton, but obviously hasn't.

Was there an airshow today?
