Chris_B_1983
Did anyone see the low flying plane around 4.30pm? I think it was a Lancaster, or maybe a Halifax bomber. I saw it from the flyover in Beighton, heading towards Handsworth roughly on course with the river. I never appreciated just how quiet yet majestic these aircraft were, and how low they could actually travel safely. The guy I spoke to was certain it was going to crash into the marshes at Beighton, but obviously hasn't. Was there an airshow today?
Magneteer
Might have been on a practice run for when they do the 70 anniversary of the Dams Raid flypast over the dam wall at Derwent

Locksley
Didn't see it myself unfortunately, but I'm fairly sure there aren't any Halifax bombers flying now, so was probably a Lanc. Although four Merlins don't tend to be exactly quiet lol.

bassy
iv seen the lancaster many times, its usually a part of the battle of britian fly over, with a spitfire and a hurricane, its a lovely big old plane and i think there is only 1 still flying, a few others are in museums, very majestic and poignant when it flies over............i love an air show
