jemson
Best ones I`ve had IN Sheffield recently:- High Wire by Magic Rock @ Sheff Tap Mudpuppy by Salamander @ The Ale House, Woodseats Origin by Summer Wine @ Shakespeares all lcal-ish! I`d have to update / amend mine to include Pollards by Thornbridge having had some at the Coach and Horses last weekend!

I like pollards but in the local flavoured stout genre, I do like a bit of McConnell's.

maggi
Re: Barnsley Bitter Wars at The Ale House Apparently this starts this week! The beer adjudged the winner will retain its place on the bar. According to this post on Facebook, it's started! "£1.50 for a half of each - then cast tha vote. Aye that's £1.50 a pint - no laikin'- so think on." Both McConnell's and Pollard's are good, but if we are talking local(ish) favoured beers how about Saltaire? Triple Chocoholic Stout and Hazlenut Coffee Porter are both good. HCP is better imo but still not there with Pollards, cheaper though!
