Spoiled for choice. Bradfield is a personal favourite, but Kelham Island and Abbeydale produce some crackers.
I do like a farmers blonde, saw a comment saying it smells eggy - I've had that once or twice but quite rare, maybe something to do with the start or end of a barrel.
If you fancy trying something a bit different, one of our reviewers recently went to Zeugma on London Road which is a Turkish place that does BYO. She rated it pretty highly - http://whatsonupnorth.co.uk/2011/08/zeugma-a-real-turkish-gem/ . Not Italian I know but could be worth a go. BBs does BYO if you do fancy a city centre Italian but does have mixed reviews.
Go for a 'slutty rutty butty' at the Rutland arms, or Fushion Deli definitely comes recommended. If you can make it up to Broomhill the York also does cracking food. Enjoy!
