A4E and Emma Harrison- MEGATHREAD

Recommended Posts

I dont see which government is/was in power makes any difference, the common denominator here is A4E

Arguing about who is/was in government is about as relevant as what I had for tea yesterday.

Of course it's relevant, under the Work Programme initiated under the coalition, providers don't get paid until a job seeker has been in paid employment for six months. It's like performance related pay.

But Cameron obviously thinks she and A4E are doing a good job, otherwise he wouldn't have appointed her "Families Champion" last year giving her responsibility for getting problem families back into work.

She's been obtaining government contracts for over 20 years. She continues to be given new work. All parties are to blame for the blinkered view that private companies are the panacea for the country's ills.

so dont you think this gov should now sort this out and instead of companies like this ripping the taxpayer off this money should be diverted to companies to provide proper jobs ?

The Council has a website for Direct Payments , where vulnerable and disabled people can arrange their own care . On the last page of the website , the council refers people to the A4e direct payments "team", for help and advice in interviewing and recruiting carers .

Would be interesting to know the size of the contract and the success rate . After all , EH has stated that all she wants to do is "improve peoples' lives ". Let's just hope this is a tiny contract which does not divert money from those who are so vulnerable they can't organise a care package themselves .

Errm, yes. Wasn't that implicit from my post? Especially this bit:

Sounds similar to the leaches who organise claims against banks for miss-selling policy protection insurance. You can claim yourself perfectly easily for free but A4E will do it for you, for money.

'Fraud' arrests at government contractor A4e

Breaking news

Four people have been arrested on suspicion of fraud at government contractor A4e, police have confirmed.

Two women, aged 28 and 49, and two men, aged 35 and 41, were arrested last month and bailed until mid-March.

'Women aged 28 and 49...' Hopefully Harrison is the 49 year old one.

'A4e said the alleged fraud dated back to 2010 and had been uncovered by its own internal investigation. '

Yes, of course it had. Countless negative publicity about A4e over the years and, as soon as it becomes public, they have an 'internal investigation'. Yeah.

I doubt it will be Emma Harrison. These four will probably be the ones made scapegoat so that Emma & A4E can try to save face.

All 4 Emma is a truly parasitic organisation.

Ive had experience of people coming for interview from there, and to say they arrive under prepared, under qualified, and its a shame to say completely dis heartened is somewhat of an understatement.

I spoke to one of the ones who I actually employed, and she said they spent days doing nothing at all other than waiting for tutors to start various training modules, any attempts at job searches using computers was severely restricted, thats if they were working, newspapers, magazines etc all out of date, and any assistance non existent. In short A4E were providing a creche type service for the unemployed.

I really hope they do take Emma Harrison to task, except they wont, she will hide behind some poor sods who had the misfortune to believe the balls she talks. A bit like Rupert Murdoch did.
