Violent riots and looting in UK (part 2)

Recommended Posts

And the people who work for these businesses deserve to lose their jobs when their workplace gets burned to the ground ?

people who work for JD sports, T Mobile, Boots and other big chains wont lose their jobs they'll get paid holiday or temporary transfer.

the riots are exactly what's needed and long may they continue perhaps then the real scum which are the elite political class at the top will think twice about making the poor suffer because the bankers and politicians screwed up and also because they're busy spending half the budget on burning other peoples countries down.

still those torching and looting small business's are just as much scum as the elite political class because those small business owners are mostly poor people working hard to get out of poverty.

That has to be the single stupidest post on SF, ever.

Well done bounce, you've outdone even your previous posts.

so is that what happened in the 80s then? Magy had the gloves of and it just caused more anger and resentment.

Tougher sentencing and not just a slap on the wrist, fine or community service. A harsher punishment to put the message across that crime does not pay.

Here's an idea:

How about an organisation rooted in every community in the UK that acts as a kind of social glue and fosters a real sense of community

One that brings people together who work or live together

One that helps people out who need it and encourages people to make a contribution

One that has in it people who are quite well educated (maybe self educated) who have some political principles and have thought about things, and can act as a brake on stupid and anti social behaviour

One that gives communities a coherent voice and can channel grievances into constructive processes

One that demands people take responsibility for themselves and their neighbours

That would help a lot to prevent the stupid, selfish violence we have seen, wouldn't it?

It's called a labour movement and it's been essentially defeated and got rid of in this country by the right wing. I hope you like your new world.

which socio-economic class?

and why do you think they are?

Ealing for example is a nice area most of the home owners are middle to upper class but there are some council estates near by which is where the rioters came from. Same with Clapham Junction and Camden.

And for how long, 3 months, 6 months, until a new shop is built ?
