Is SF more strict than it used to be?

Recommended Posts

Now I am getting confused.

What else would it have done? Or should a discussion end up at the start:confused:?

The discussion started over a complaint about the difference in managment between the groups and threads on the Forum. As I have previously explained these are not comparable areas.

Any complaints about the Groups should be raised with Moonbird or the Group Leaders direct. The actions taken in Groups have no bearing on the rest of the Forum.

Is wishing death on those that hurt animals more preferable?

No - but both are vaild opinions in the correct place - that would be my opinion on the subject.

People wouldn't start telling porn jokes in a childrens section and expect it to be allowed.

Where was this proved? You regularly see posts in 'General Discussion which would get closed sharpish in special interest sections, take for example the assorted threads on religion which wouldn't last 5 minutes in the Cathedral section and rightly so.
When I was banned for a week for being critical of a certain moderater who was participating in the discussion on the cat in the wheely bin saga.

After making what I still believe to be a light hearted joke which the pet group users didn't appreciate. I asked the mod in question several times(seeing as they were discussing the topic not modding it, apperently)to explain what I'd done that was so wrong, but unfortunately for me they chose to ignore and delete every post I made, then I was banned.

The pet group was then allowed to continue discussing and describing various acts of vengeance upon the wheely bin lady.:hihi:

Breathless!

To qualify some valid points - we ARE NOT to comment on the actions of other moderators either privately or on the public forum. Whether we agree or not is irrelevant. Hence you got no reply.

GL's determine behaviour in groups so a mod would not have had any say so in it. Hence no reply from a mod.

Questions regarding moderation SHOULD be sent to admin not discussed on an open forum - it's in the rules.

Constant badgering of mods etc similalry isn't allowed and results in a ban. So the ban would not have been for the wheelie bin comment but the behaviour following it, that is frowned upon.

So the mod was following the rules.

So you got banned for hassling a mod, just as you would be on every forum I've ever used and just as I expect any user on here would be.

How is this supposed to prove any kind of systematic double standard on SF?

Hardly the same thing Willman.

The mod could have offered a simple explanation, then there wouldn't have been any badgering. You're not breaking any rules are you!

But in the open forum similar comments have been made about paedos etc and haven't been removed.

I personally understand why someone would claim they wish harm to an individual for torturing a human or a pet.

I can find no validation for anyone wishing harm to pets.

Unfortunately we're breaking the rules applied to us - we can't comment on decisions made.Unless by us,if we want to.(although that leads to more trouble than its worth)

Especially in groups 'cos we have no say so in there.

If admin think we've made the wrong call, they will overule us.
