Madness via Facebook - Due to such nutty weather conditions, tonight's show at the 02 in Sheffield has been postponed. We have been talking with the local authorities since we arrived in Sheffield today, the show is all set up and ready to go and we didn't want to let anyone down before we had confirmation that it would be

impossible to go ah...ead. Your ticket remains valid and news of a rematch will be released with in 7 days

Sheffield Theatres is sorry to announce the cancellation, due to adverse weather conditions, of tonight's show Don't Stop Believin', at the Lyceum Theatre.

 

Cast members have had increased difficulties throughout the day getting to the theatre. Venue bosses say they are very sorry to be announcing at this late stage in the day and for any inconvenience this may cause.

 

"We will be contacting all audience members to inform them of the cancelation and to exchange their tickets," he said.

Tonight's Madness gig is postponed. This is the message from the band: "Due to some of the nuttiest weather conditions we have encountered on a Uk tour tonight's show at the 02 in Sheffield has been postponed. We have been talking with the local authorities since we arrived in Sheffield today, the show is all set up and ready to go and we didn't want to let anyone down before we had confirmation that it would be impossible for the show to go ahead. As the show is postponed your ticket remains valid and news of a rematch will be released with in 7 days Do Not Adjust your nut Love Madness."

 

The Human League concert at Sheffield City Hall tonight is cancelled. It is still yet to be confirmed whether the show will be rescheduled for a later date.

 

Friday night's scheduled Frank White show at The Pheasant Inn, Barbsley Road, Sheffield Lane Top has been postponed until the new year. Tickets already bought for Friday will be valid for the new date, which will be announced next week.

 

The Redhouse on Solly Street is open tonight for the Chriv Matthews gig and Open Mic.

 

Hoyland Leisure Centre, the Metrodome Leisure Complex, Dorothy Hyman Sports Complex, Royston Leisure Centre, Worksop Leisure Centre, Retford Leisure Centre, Wombwell Baths, Dearneside Leisure Centre are all closed today.

 

The Sheffield City Council Planning the Future road show at the Artspace, Crystal Peaks has been cancelled

 

St Leger Homes in Doncaster are currently providing an emergency repairs service only. If you already have an appointment booked for a non-emergency it will be rearranged.

 

Ponds Forge International Sports Centre is now closed - but The English Institute of Sport – Sheffield (EIS Sheffield) is currently open as normal.

 

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals Trust says outpatient departments are closed today and tomorrow, there are operations for emergencies and urgent cases only, there are no shuttle services between hospitals, the Park & Ride service from the Racecourse to DRI is also closed and there are no postal services within the hospitals. However, A&E Departments at Bassetlaw Hospital and DRI are open.

 

Reverend Peter Owen Jones: More TV Vicar which was intended to take place in the Memorial Hall tonight, has been cancelled. The show will not be rescheduled and therefore full refunds will be available.

 

The 'Back for Good' Take That tribute show at the Winding Wheel in Chesterfield has been cancelled for tomorrow and re-scheduled for Friday, January 14. All tickets for the original date will be valid.

 

Concord Sports Centre, iceSheffield, Hillsborough Leisure Centre, Don Valley Stadium, Westfield Sports Centre and the Sheffield Motorpoint Arena are closed today.

 

Beauchief, Tinsley Park, Birley Wood and Tapton Park golf courses are closed for the foreseeable future.

 

Sheffield United safety and estates manager Steve Hicks said: "The Bramall Lane stadium and the Sheffield United Academy in Shirecliffe are closed today due to the weather. However, online and telephone sales for tickets are still available for fans.

"We will be working hard over the coming days to ensure access to and around the stadium is improved and we are confident that the game this Saturday (December 4) against Reading will go ahead as planned."

 

Sheffield Hallam University is closed to staff and students today.

 

Hospitals in Sheffield - the Royal Hallamshire, Northern General, Charles Clifford Dental, Jessops and Weston Park - have also cancelled all non-urgent appointments and operations.

 

Outpatient appointments at Rotherham District General Hospital have been cancelled today.

 

The hospitals have issued a plea to all staff currently off work to contact the duty matron if they are able to walk to work.

 

All cases due to be heard at Sheffield Crown Court today have been cancelled because of the snow making it difficult for staff, barristers, prisoners, defendants and jurors to get there.

 

All Rotherham inquests have been postponed.

 

The Youth Can Achieve Christmas party has had to be cancelled and organisers are working on a new date.
