Hi I've only just seen your post, apologies for the late response. Here at Zest we do have weights in our gym although our free weights (hand weights) are max 25kg each and we do not have bar bells. There are a number of strength machines which have a wide range of weights, why not pop down and ask for a look, our supervisors will be happy to show you around.

Every Friday at 6pm there is a new Bokwa class at Zest in Upperthorpe. Classes cost just £3.80 per person but you will need to ring to make a booking to be sure of a place. Bokwa is a fantastic new fitness, dance craze which will help work towards increasing your fitness levels. Zest are looking for an additional and fully qualified Zumba instructor to deliver a couple of new sessions that we would like to put into our timetable. You must hold a current qualification and the classes will be Friday at 6pm and at some point on Sunday either late morning or early afternoon. We need a handyman to help us dismantel 3 desks from one building, take them to another and build them up again. We have another 4 desks which need the same doing. and some furniture in the building needs moving from one floor to another. The work ideally needs two people. The Zest Centre at Upperthorpe have some new activities running from August, these include Intensive Swimming lessons for stage 1 and 2 abilities. They will be run on 15th, 16th, 17th, 22nd, 23rd and 24th August. We will also be holding sessions for children to attain the Children's Lifeguard Award on the 1st and 2nd August and Water Polo on the 8th and 9th August. Our Saturday morning exercise classes which are already running include Women Only ZUMBA at 11.00am and Women Only Step Mix at 12.00pm. These classes have been recently added due to the high demand, places do fill up fast so we do ask customers to book a week in advance. You can do so by phoning the above number. As we are approaching the summer holiday period and a lot of our regular instructors will be on holiday, we at Zest are looking for fully qualified self-employed instructors who would like to be added to our casual instructors list. We operate a number of classes mainly in the evenings and at weekends but we do have a few daytime classes too. Thanks to everyone who has contributed here, we are having a display of all the Memories of Upperthorpe comments which have both been made here and also those sent directly to me at Zest. If anyone who has contributed here would be interested in coming along to see it, please feel free, the date is Saturday 26th March starting at 11am, we hope to leave the display up in the centre for all to see for a week or so after that date, so if you can't make it on the Saturday please pop in another time.

Sorry to keep posting but we have now decided to remain closed over the weekend and to re-open on Monday at 7am. Sincere apologies to all of you waiting to come back to see us but for the health and safety of our staff and centre users we have taken this decision. Apologies if you thought we were "blatently advertising" We are a community organisation offering services, and rather than have people struggle through the snow to use our facilities (which includes the Upperthorpe Library) we thought it best to let people know. No-one who uses our services would think to look in the shop closed thread as we are not a shop. Sorry if our post offended you but I'm sure it didn't offend our users.
