WeX   10 #123 Posted November 14, 2012 (edited) I'm surprised this didn't come up when you started your thread http://www.sheffieldforum.co.uk/showthread.php?t=673846  Nope as the auto search isn't that good. All that came up when creating the thread was:  IS the song about the calibre of the ref starting to cost us? Are the wheels starting to come off at the lane? Did you have a good start to the new year ? Students starting to arrive - your views.  Ill ask the mods to merge this thread with the proper one Edited November 14, 2012 by WeX
 Share this content via...

WeX Â Â 10 #125 Posted November 14, 2012 I suppose the next question should be; is this normal or are we seeing a greater number arrive?
 Share this content via...
Buggz   10 #126 Posted November 17, 2012 Spotted a large group of waxwings (60+) at 8am eating berries on trees between Europcar national car hire building and the carpark on corporation street (just below west bar roundabout). They were quite tame as I got within about 5ft of them whilst they were feeding. Unfortunately I didn't have my camera with me as I was on my way to town to do my weekly shop. They eventually flew off towards Neepsend/Shirecliffe.
 Share this content via...

Buggz   10 #129 Posted November 19, 2012 Just in case anyone is interested there's a twitter feed dedicated to waxwing spotting in and around the UK: https://twitter.com/WaxwingsUK  People are posting some great pics on there! Below are a few examples (the last pic was taken in Sheffield).  https://twitter.com/kasmunro/status/269801142656065536/photo/1   https://twitter.com/RSPB_OldMoor/status/269160362488782848/photo/
 Share this content via...
Victor Meldrew   33 #130 Posted November 26, 2012 There were several flycatching from the tops of tall trees in the Botanical Gardens on Friday. I've seen them do this before (in fact they spend most of the year doing it back home) but never this late. Then a flock of 30+ came over and they all flew off together.  When we reached the bottom of Eccy Road we found another huge flock by Waitrose.
