Japanese knotweed problems

It is a complex organism that is difficult to kill. If you do not want to use weed killers then you have to remove the soil and put all the material though a bio digester.

That would cost literally tens of thousands of pounds.

 

Of course weed killers aren't healthy that is the whole point.

 

Its usually landfilled many meters down. I used to work for a landfill company. I'm sure knotweed soil had to be put into an area something like 4 meters below the surface and covered immediately so nothing could blow around.

 

It could possibly go to a soil treatment facility but I've never heard of it being treated in a digester.
