RonJeremy   10 #73 Posted October 13, 2009 I don't feel that the airports or security people would be investing in this System if it was not going to: Save money Save time Save lives Why would they do it - its obviously not for any perv factor - have you seen the pictures? I think it is a very good Idea and personally have no problem with someone looking at these images of me, my OH or my kids in the intersts of security. However the most important thing in security at airports should be profiled and targetted searching. My grandma is not going to be a terrorist, but she still has to go through the same controls as a 25 year old moslem man
 Share this content via...
Berberis   10 #74 Posted October 13, 2009 No they're not. Get a grip man!  Please do try and disassociate fantasy from reality.  By making such crass and patently absurd comments, all you're doing is 'buying in' to the 'Daily Mail' mentality: a newspaper I read, by the way, along with many others so I really do understand how it has affected you. I essence, I feel your pain.  I bet this new machine shows up an inserted tampon. The next time I fly, will I be required to remove it? After all, it could be full of potentially lethal liquids.  I see no evidence to contradict my statement other than your opinion. What sources are you using to say I am wrong? Nakashimayum   10 #75 Posted October 13, 2009 My grandma is not going to be a terrorist, but she still has to go through the same controls as a 25 year old moslem man  I actually find that comment quite offensive. I am not a muslim but still if I was, i'd be very offended. An old lady could be just as much threat as a 25 year old muslim man. You are not talking about targeted searching, you are talking about stereotyping and I think your comment is bordering on racism. µscope   10 #76 Posted October 13, 2009 I'm supposing children are also to be scanned, just hope that the scan operaters will all have CRB checks.CRB checks are largely a waste of time. Far better it would seem to refuse job applications from ugly obese people who have worked in children's nurseries! (All of whom had been checked, by the way!) Br8inend   10 #77 Posted October 13, 2009 My mate knows the man who studies the xrays. My mate works the gate and texts his mate when any one who is a child, famous or beautiful walks past the xray machines ....... There is a black market on the web for all the above pics. Apparently you can see individual pubic hairs!
 Share this content via...
Thebanginman   10 #78 Posted October 14, 2009 Waste of time ,the muslims will now complain that the xray machine is run using pig fat and alcohol ,subsequently Manchester airport will be swamped in a initial burst of compensation claims by offended muslims, after paying out compensation to numerous people to the tune of 3.5 million pounds the airport administrators will withdraw the machines as non viable
 Share this content via...
DYKWIA   10 #79 Posted October 14, 2009 Pornography is the creation of sexually explicit images. Naked pictures are considered pornography in the UK, therefore the images this machine creates, on the face of it, are pornographic. Personally it’s the invasion of privacy I find worrying and how these things tend to start in this kind of way. Introduce something but then make it compulsory some time later. In essence these kinds of laws or measures are rolled out in tiny increments so the general public do not find them too shocking. However over time and if you put them all together you see a much bigger leap that would normally have been cause for concern or outright objectionable if we had known.  There is possibly some evidence that these scanners introduction on a voluntary basis is merely the start of the cycle to soften up the public opinion over time, before mandatory introduction happens at some later date. Look at ID cards for example.  Sounds like you have just made that up but would be more than happy for you to provide evidence to prove me wrong. Apparently you can see individual pubic hairs!  So your mate informs his mate when there is a chance to see a naked child? and im guessing the naked child pics are being sold to paedos on the black market?  I'd get your mate and his little paedo ring shopped to the cops, unless you are talking out of your bottom which i suspect.  Or it could be that you are joking, in which case i apologise for jumping on you. Zomoniac   10 #81 Posted October 14, 2009 Where is the image and would you be happy for your doctor to take pictures of you naked?  I write software for plastic surgery groups, many of which store vast amounts of before and after pictures of naked bodies for many ops. The pics are annotated and stored for reference in case a later problem arises. Myself, someone else on the development team, and management and surgeon-level users at the clinics are the only people with access, but they are all stored, naked pictures. Millions of them. Do you think there's something wrong with that? As we don't, the clinics don't, and evidentally the patients don't as they're quite happy to pose for them. You seem to be completely unable to grasp that nudity and sexuality are not in any way the same thing.
 Share this content via...

The only way you can do what you do is to see people in all their glory, while there are alternatives to this scanner.  If the scanner remains voluntary then that's fine, but I suspect it will not.
