slickwitch   10 #14 Posted October 13, 2009 They used box cutters which are now banned in hand luggage. Problem solved.  I can't really see the problem. I fly quite a bit and have no problem with the current security measures. I quite enjoy the "pat down" and somehow I always get done!  You do have the right to refuse this new method. slickwitch   10 #15 Posted October 13, 2009 They may well not be erotic, but they are pornographic. Pornography in its basic visual form is nothing more than sexually explicit pictures and as nudity is banned in public the images on this scanner can be deemed indecent at the very least.  Did you read the report at all?  It says it will be viewed by one person in a remote room and then immediately deleted. I don't see how you can find some jobsworth customs man staring at your privates, and those of your mum, wife, girlfriend, children, etc 'pretty cool'?  Do you really trust the low paid customs staff with these sort of pictures? Waxen_Pith   10 #17 Posted October 13, 2009 Did you read the report at all? It says it will be viewed by one person in a remote room and then immediately deleted.  Of course they will...  But what's to stop one man in a private room taking copies on the pc, with his phone etc.  do you really think this will improve security? Because I heard Tesco are watching you from above and the next time you try to buy a pack of supernoodles they are going to.....well I won't spoil the surprise. Gripper Stebson   10 #19 Posted October 13, 2009 "The images are not erotic or pornographic" Do they not know how turned on us ladies can get by men who look like they are one leg of a pair of tights stuffed with porridge?    Or us men by the ladies smuggling brussels down the legs of their tights. That's the vegatable not the Belgian one.
 Share this content via...
Shoesme   10 #20 Posted October 13, 2009 Pity the poor bloke though who goes through the scanner with an erection.  It really doesn't bother me though that it'll show an outline of my genitals.
 Share this content via...

Berberis   10 #23 Posted October 13, 2009 Did you read the report at all? It says it will be viewed by one person in a remote room and then immediately deleted.  A pornographic image is not categorised so by the number of viewers  What loophole does this scanner close in airport security? Can't argue with that.  Personally I think it's overkill, and ultimatley a pointless waste of cash, as well as invasion of privacy. There will be a lot of people not so unconcerned as you.
