I wasn't getting hig and mighty at all just pointing out that you should find out the truth for yourself.

A great mate that is sending emails to everyone that might be interested in someone else's business.

I guess it's up to you waht you do about it really isn't it?

Before you start getting high and mighty " I have copies of e mails sent to my friend that categorically state that they would not take the job because it would affect their benefits" In my opinion this person should be reported as they have turned down an offer of a full time job that would suit their needs and I as a tax payer am paying part of the persons benefits...

A quick google search reveals that there are circumstances where someone on benefits can refuse full-time work without losing their benefits. Do any of them fit your "friend"'s circumstances?

Allready looked there Basil and no they do not apply in this case and moonbird the email was only sent to me because the person that sent it wanted an opinion because he was unsure what action to take and as we have been close friends since school he values my opinion. The email is confidential and shall remain so hence i have only stated the facts of it and not exposed any details other than the points mentioned..

What was the full time job that was offered to them?

If you have the information and you feel strongly about it then report it and let DWP investigate. If there is any truth in it then they will find out.

I voted yes, but there are a couple of exceptions to that.

1) if the job they were offered was something they couldn't physically do because of health reasons.

2) the person was temp unemployed or made redundant and had a huge mortgage to pay and were currently using mortgage protection and would loose this if they took the job, but the job would not cover the mortgage payment and allow them to live.

Would I 'report' someone?

No. I do not support the tactics of the Hitler Youth. People may be on benefits for a variety of reasons, leading a poor quality of life as it is without evil minded snoopers 'informing' on them to inflate their own sense of self importance.

Whoever thinks it is a good and worthwhile activity to act as an agent of the state tends to be of a spiteful and vindictive temperament. Such individuals enormously enjoyed life in National Socialist run Germany and settled many scores against their neighbours in Republican areas of Ulster during the Troubles.

That has blatently turned down an offer for full time paid work if it affected their benefits styled lifestyle, i have it on good knowledge that someone has just turned down a full time job that pays above the national minimum wage, because it will affect their benefits entitlement and probably because they will have to get up off their backsides and pay back some of the benefits that they have been sponging off the state for years... This person is able to work but chooses not too for this reason... Personally im disgusted but what is your opinion ?

Do it, its the right thing and its these people who are killing this country.

I hardly think that 'reporting' someone who may be abusing a system that is partially funded by 'the people' as in taxpayers is tantamount to National Socialist Germany...but each to their own.

Are you just a troll or completely mad ??? I quote "No. I do not support the tactics of the Hitler Youth." Neither do I ?? where did you get that assumption from ?? Did I mention Hitler youth ?? NO !! And yes I have just reported the work shy fop to the DWP and they will be investigating the E mail sent to me from my friend and the person that sent it will be getting paid a visit.. People like this that sponge off society are taking taxes from the needy like hospitals and the much under funded hospices that are there for the needy not the wanty (poetic licence applied for)

I have a feeling that this is a sly backhanded dig about somebody on here..... no names mentioned.

I do agree some people need to be reported with regards to situations like this, however proving that they are not doing work because it is affecting their benefits would be hard to prove.
