Is a sausage roll Jesus blasphemous? Or just dumb?

Greggs have got into a bit of bother by depicting a nativity scene with the three wise men visiting the baby sausage roll in his crib.

 

Now I'm not religious so find it a bit funny, but for those that do truly believe is this an insult, crass stupidity or just another example of secular commercialisation?

It is funny.

 

Most Christians would not be offended. Muslims and Jews with a penchant for mock outrage may have a issue. It’s curious that this issue could bring them and right wing nut jobs together. Who’d have thought it.

 

Last time I went to church at Christmas one of the congregation had a jumper with the words on it: “Happy birthday Jesus. Have a sprout”. Nobody was bothered.

No it isn't allowed, you can't have something people may find amusing as it is certain to upset some poor soul who will take offence and go on social media to condemn the company responsible. This is UK 2017 when whatever you say or do is likely to offend someone.

........you could certainly end up minus your head for daring to venture into Greggs foray to flog their sausage rolls in some countries,but thankfully we live in a more tolerant democratic country,although that seems to be struggling!

Anyone offended by this needs to get a life. My view is ALL religions are open to mocking and ridicule .

Why specifically those 2? I'd have been told off at school for it, that was Roman Catholic.

 

Personally I think it's funny, these days people just have to be offended by everything.

I’m allowed to be outraged by Brexit. It’s not mock outrage either. It’s very real.

Because sausages rolls are made of pork, neither religion allows pork, Jesus was Jewish and was also considered a great messenger in Islam.
