Forget Wednesday and united support sheffield eagles
pb63 replied to jackdog's topic in Sheffield Sport & Activities
Hi Scozzie, the Eagles play some games at Don Valley and some at Brammall Lane, will be getting a dedicated rugby stadium after Don Valley is demolished. Play a lot of games on Friday nights but it varies. If you google Sheffield Eagles you will get all the details. -
The Red Lion Book Group (thread #4)

Looks like the club will be closing up due to people moving away from Sheffield (with the occasional reunion). Unless there are new people out there who really do want to join? -

Is it too late for me to start boxing at 27?
pb63 replied to sheffwed1085's topic in Sheffield Sport & Activities
Amateur boxers have to retire at 34. But professionals can go on as long as they can get a license. Andrew Flintoff recently had his first pro fight at 34, less than a year after starting as a beginner. So it is theoretically possible but would be a huge amount of hard work. Good luck! -

Only Ron and I for the 28th so far. Actually 19th of December would suit me better now. -

Ok, plan C. I suggest we meet on 28 November and discuss both The Psychopath Test and I, Partridge. We traditionally have a spooky classic for the Christmas meeting, so I suggest we do The Strange Case of Dr Jeckyll and Mr Hide, or The Picture of Dorian Gray for 12th December. Both of these are short, so we could do a quick turnaround. That should get us over our hiccups and back on track! -

I arrived at 7.25 and stayed until 7.50 last night. Unfortunately I did not have a copy of the book with me, so if any newbies turned up they would not have known who I was. Sorry if you turned up later GT. -
Sheffield Eagles mainly play at Brammall Lane now anyway. Is the main problem that DVS has a six-lane athletics track but the international standard is 8-lane?

I used to go to the Leeds group with my then girlfriend. Had a pool and a steam room. There was a jacuzzi there too but never seemed to be working.
